...and between those versions it had the lyrics altered/adapted a little (by Michael Jackson) and was meant to go on his 'Thriller' album.

It never made Thriller, something to do with legal issues, but it was posthumously released as an MJ single in 2010/2011

ETA:

I might as well chuck the 'YMO vs Human League' version into the mix while I'm about it.

Sounds like the original lyrics too, I think?

May not be a Celebrity by todays standards but well worthy of a mention and a reminder of the horror of war.

RIP Robert Hebras

If you are ever passing Oradur-sur-Glane near Limoges it is a very sobering place

Oh God yes. Took my teenage daughter there. She was very quiet for the rest of the day.

It's quite a sobering article when you read about the Alsations. Oradour-Sur-Glane is most certainly worth a visit

Totally agree about visiting that place. It brings home just how evil man can be. I found it so upsetting holding my small daughter and seeing the pushchairs lying in the building where they were murdered.

Let's keep it on-topic please. There's plenty of opportunity to discuss politicians and politics in the N,P&E forum (including a thread devoted to Lord Lawson).

I read 'The Worlds Fastest Indian' about Burt Munro, growing old in the land speed record game certainly wasn't a given frown

Glad he managed a full, rewarding and long life. As has been said, something many of his contemporaries did not manage.
