Wasn’t there a thread, for members who disappeared? Can’t recall the name of it.

This did not get the recognition it deserved.

Ten posts a day for 15 years ... perhaps it is a good thing for his or her own health ?!
Kind of abrupt end, just checking his last posts…..hope he is okay, PH needs good characters posting.

Aren't there quite a few other names that have been missing for some time ?

All banned ?
Quite a few newish members who are quite opinionated as well have appeared.

I had no problem with WB or BV etc.

There is a vibe though that's not here anymore. There used to be some great amusing topics in the lounge.

Edit, I've been in here 16yrs?! Wtf.

Yup, was here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

But got closed down - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

The mention of a certain Allium sativum was enough to get the thread shutdown, which was shame because before he got mentioned there were some nostalgic memories of certain posters.

I kind of assumed that the ebayer finally came good with a 2and chance offer on the 944 and he's been busy with his new toy...

He probably died. It’s probably what happened to most of these posters that just disappeared one day. On another forum I use someone died and everyone knew because their wife came on and posted. If I died there’s no way that my wife would do the same on here or any other forum and I would imagine that is the case for nearly everyone here.

I hear WB has not only been a London cabbie, but is also a fan of white jeans and cowboy apparel......

I don't think my wife even knows I go on any specific forum.

I used to go on a bicycle one but there was a bizarre element of stalking/weird types. A few reportedly used to focus on female cyclists on there also. L

Does anyone remember SXS from waaaay back? I seem to remember he was building a Cerbera to crack 200mph or something.

Quite an aggressive poster who just disappeared one day. Maybe upset the wrong people (pre-Smolensky, so probably not the Russians...).

I liked some of Cockwomble7's contributions, but he must have got banned for being too "Woke". frown

It's a cruel environment in here these days...
I can't remember the exact facts of why he got banned but i do know it involved him imbibing too much giggle juice one night. I seem to recall he got into it with another poster and it got nasty fast, hence him being canned.
Some of his stories were amusing though and he was a stalwart of the then fledgling TUSRTAYL idea.

Let's hope not.

Apart from anything else, he may have been a village idiot but he was *our* village idiot.

I prefer to think of him as camped out next to his electricity meter, poised like a mamba to strike at any member of his family leaving an electrical appliance on stand-by mode or wandering too close to the boiler's 'on' switch

I think some people just burn out, especially those who focus on NP&E. Those doing a ‘Lucan’ lately include Tuna, Stongle and Bandit.

Wasn’t WB ridiculed over his claims about a BMW 335D? It’s a long time ago and I can’t remember the details.

I do hope he's ok, if he was going to flounce he'd have done it years ago with the amount of grief he used to get. He has the skin of a rhino.

He did like a drink and did occasionally post in the 365 days without booze thread, I hope that's not got the better of him.

Was going to ask this too... Had a look through his history as he'd been close to being banned a few times but nothing contentious that I could see.

He was no spring chicken mind do hopefully still with us.

Whatever happened that bloke with the junior supercar, was he Vladimir? Fond memories also of Trabi601, who (a) owned a Trabant and (b) entertainingly derailed the early trainers threads.
