It's sad that Welshbeef is gone, even though he appeared to be 'on the sauce' with alarming regularity, and his alleged powerfully built finance director persona might have been a bit walter mitty.

What about Mybrainhurts? I've not noticed him posting recently?
He's probably trying to login again.

Aren't there quite a few other names that have been missing for some time ?

All banned ?
Breadvan72 was quite prolific & opinioned in my time here.
Attention seeker who loved to flounce for the only reason of coming back.
Occasionally irascible and pompous, sure, but a chap with interesting cars and a willingness to offer proper legal advice, which upset the legal-Walts and the Melts. Pity he went.

What was the name of the guy who used to lob in a grenade to any discussion then never return...'Digger' or something like that?
Digga?

If you mean him, he's still very much around.
I think you mean Yipper?
I thought Yipper was okay, and I couldn't understand the stick they got.

Can't believe he left almost 5 years ago - time flies! https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?me...
Oh Gawd - what have i done now?! biggrin

Years ago there was a poster called CorvetteConvert or similar who seemed to post on every thread all the time! They never seemed to be offline. Then just disappeared?

Quite. He was robust and didn't suffer fools, rightly calling out terrible legal advice from barrack room lawyers.

You're all forgetting LoonR1. Also before my time if you don't account for the decade or so before I retired and signed up. Always enjoyed breadvan's classic car input, shame he's gone.
I was going to mention him. LoonR1 has reincarnated approximately 378 times since his initial and subsequent bans. For a while his replacement account names had loose associations with terms relating to geese (no idea why) but I don't know what he's calling himself this week. Posting style was always instantly recognisable tho, mostly because he always wanted a scrap. I did once call him out on one of his replacement accounts and he was highly offended.

Same as Toomany2cv’s. He disappeared after posting 100 times a day. Banned?

Is there an official banned list? I know on some other forums, when someone gets banned, it’s says against their name.

He’s still about but just seems to spend his days moaning about his wifi in the tech forums.

What about Reg the retired taxi driver.

Staggeringly racist and unsurprisingly the tales of a taxi driver are unbelievably dull.

Derestrictor! Yup, his posts were ALWAYS worth a read. I wonder who he was in real life (did he run a TV shop in London or something?) and what happened to him. I hope that he is OK.

Frank7 wasn't it? used to use Americanisms and French all the time. Quite entertaining until his inner-racist came out.

There was one chap called LoonR1 or something who knew about the inner workings of car insurance but very abrasive and was banned I believe

That seems counter-intuitive. I've seen a documentary, mainly centred around a taxi driver called John, and his life seems to be thoroughly entertaining

I miss MaxTorque on the technical threads. Very experienced and knowledgeable, worked with some big name companies, and could write clearly on technical matters.

Unfortunately got into several arguments with opinionated but ignorant posters, especially on the subject of EV's.
I think he just got sick of it all.
