Yes, I think if posting something is this difficult it’s probably best you just bin it next time.

What would you call someone that messes you around, you don't need to by a psycho to slag someone off.
"I've sold off all my unwanted PC equipment on ebay, so far no problem. the last item I listed sold on Saturday morning for £72, it was a last minute bid by someone with 100% feedback but there were several other bids for slightly less. But up to now the buyer hasn't paid but has sent a message saying they will go to the bank on Monday morning."

So the person has done as they promised, you're now branding them a 'messer' and slinging insults around - what a lovely person you are rofl

Thread titled "Ebay non payer" - person has now paid, thread can be closed tbf.
The bank message was sent on Sunday evening, more than 24hrs after she won, my point was she must have known at the time the auction ended that she won but kept me in the dark about the payment issue, whenever I've bought anything off ebay I've always paid immediately as obviously I want it as quick as possible. Its like when people turn up late, it might only be an hour or so but they are what I'd call "messers", if I can manage it then so can everyone else.

Messed you around by waiting until next working day? It's not the buyers prerogative for your schedule. Unless you state in the advert (item must be paid for immediately or it goes back up) how are they to know. And eBay has a 4 day window for payment.

4 days. Perfectly reasonable.

Chill out.

I won an old film camera on eBay last week, submitted a bid and forgot about it as I was racing over the weekend. Paid within 2 days, got the item a few days later. Not everyone is on eBay 24/7 or has email reminders to get them to pay. Needless to say, seller seemed happy, im happy. I think you need to chill out a bit pal.

Possible new classic thread.

And don’t be an idiot calling someone offensive names a) because she’d pay this morning and did, and b) it’s utterly undeserved.

That's different though, this woman placed the bid in the last few seconds to win it and then didn't bother about it for the next day. Maybe people have different ideas about stuff like this than me, like when you are in a queue at a shop, if I had a problem with something at the till I would step aside immediately and say serve someone else whilst I sort it out yet others will stand there all day trying different cards or phoning the bank etc. Or in Screwfix when there are several tradesmen in the queue behind but the bloke at the front insists on looking at every nut bolt and washer in the place before he will commit to spending 20p.

I would have sent an immediate message the moment I bought it saying I cant pay until Monday but don't worry everything is in hand. Others are only interested in themselves or are totally oblivious to everyone else's circumstances.

Yep. Definite classic thread contender.

You realise there are many tools available for auction sniping and she could have used them?

Now I'm not so calm. I can finally get rid of the last two boxes in my hallway, I've stuck the labels on and I know that the post office shuts for lunch, just gone on google to see whether its 12-1 or 1-2 and it turns out it doesn't even open on Mondays at all. You could park right outside the one I wanted to go to, now it looks like I'm going to have to traipse across town in the rain with a big box under each arm.

Landfill next time.
I appreciate it might not suit what you are sending if you need additional insurance, but Royal Mail will collect parcels for dispatch from your home address. At the moment it's free for "occasional" users. https://www.royalmail.com/parcel-sending-options?c...

As a result I haven't stepped foot in my local post office since the last time I needed to buy a physical pr0n mag tax disc

I have no idea, all I know is you buy something and you pay for it straight away, I can't tell Sainsbury I will pay them sometime in the next few days, even if I order the stuff on-line I still have to pay there and then.

I'm not too bothered, I've now sold everything I want to and won't be doing it again, I was just explaining why I was a bit miffed about everything. If that's the way its supposed to work then I won't bother with it in the future. I was going to put a nearly new ultrawide monitor on there as well but my mate said he wanted it so I'll gladly give it him instead of doing anymore of that now.

I had the opposite last week, bid and won a mountain bike for pick up. Paid immediately and messaged the seller asking when was it convenient to collect. They messaged two days later to say it had been sold elsewhere, it then took another day to be refunded. Some sellers are complete pains.

The op should perhaps avoid selling on eBay in future, the buyer in this case has done nothing wrong.

I’ve done that many times.

Normally it’s when I’m out and about away from home or at work and I’ll then wait till the evening/ next morning when I’m home to sort the payment.

Ebay is great for buying stuff.

I'd never sell anything on there unless they were paying me cash.

You still have to be careful, in theory they can get home and say xyz has now broken and they want a refund, which could come from your linked account

Gumtree all the way, meet away from home - cash

First bit of sensible advice cheers. I've done this, they can pick up the parcels from where I'm working tomorrow and they will finally be gone.

Why couldn't ebay have told me this instead of telling people they don't have to pay, I only found out my post office actually shuts for lunch was when I spent half an hour outside it the other week.

We used to post a cheque for payment in the early eBay days. The Seller could wait for that to arrive, bank it, wait for it to clear, and then ship the item.

I'd imagine the OP would have had an aneurysm by then.

Or, would they have gambled and sent the item immediately, as it was a friendlier, trusting time back in the early 2000s.

... but what if the cheque bounced...
Now you could text them a picture of the cheque and they could pay it in that way.

That’s how my dad pays me after a meal etc, as for him it’s much easier

In fact he now has just given me a bunch of blank cheques

Funny how things evolved

Well no, because that was the system back then, I remember getting clothes and stuff out of the catalogue and you had to wait 28 days for delivery. All I had to go off was my own experience of buying off ebay and I have always paid immediately. I now know its a lot more lackadaisical than that so wont bother in the future.

Grumps.

This is a classic thread in the making.

How many ways can the OP be wrong but still insist he is the injured party?
