NOTICE TO MEMBERS

Next week we are expecting a surprise visit from OfTriv - the Government Office for Trivial Regulation. If anyone should ask, we use either home grown or responsibly sourced trivia from sustainable supplies. By 'anyone' I mean anyone official looking who isn't Constable Dunstable or Sergeant Argent. Or the new chap, Constable Haywane. Or pretty much anyone wearing a suit with a collar and tie and possibly carrying a briefcase. And asking questions.

Evemorn all!

Ol' Pequod's burfday approacheth, and as it happens, falls on Easter Day this year. The first recorded date this occurred was 1619AD when your correspondent wasn't even considered or anticipated, and no mistake. Since hatching, there has been four (4) other occasions including this year when this coincidence arrived.

The next will be in 2086AD and, I suspect, even with the best efforts of our world famous NHS, I shan't be around to witnesseth such an auspicious event!

No wonder the weather God's are angry...

I’ve just been given the contents of a holiday home! Owner is selling up and not returning!

More medication has been prescribed for old Magoo. Some sort of allergy gear I’ve been given as the doc thinks I have too much Histamine in my body causing a reaction like a nettle rash swelling. Turns out oranges are loaded with histamine. I’ve only eaten 365 oranges in the last year. Time to re evaluate my fruit intake possibly, as I’m noshing around 1,200 pieces a year at the moment.

Beer?
Splendid idea Bobbers! thumbup

Mrs Robbo has just returned from an expedition to lighten her debit card, and announced that she had a surprise for me.

Bless her, she noted that Erdinger Alkoholfrei Weissbier is on special offer in Asda once again, at £1.25 for 50cl.* and bought me 8 ( eight ) bottles, which was all they had on the shelf. I am a fortunate glenrobbo to have such a considerate lady wife. smile
She enquired as to further stock availability. so the cheery assistant chappie duly made enquiries and said that a further delivery was expected tomorrow afternoon. woohoo

Albie there with my trolley at the ready waiting to hijack the delivery truck upon arrival! bounceshoot

* If my manmaffs are correct, that's a saving of £6 ( sick squid ) per case of 12 bottles.
I shall clear out some space in the conservatory. wink

Hasta das Vista, meines kleines Kind!

Never trust an Old Fruit, old fruit! nono

I have long suspected that fruit is no good for you.

If God had meant us to eat fruit, he would have made it taste like meat, wouldnt he? wobble

Beer is made of fruit. Fruit gums. Fruit pastilles. Strawberry Angel Delight. Come on, you just need lateral thinking.

In that case, may I wish you a Very Happy Birthday in advance, my dear chap!
I hope you are able to celebrate this awespishus occasion in good company and in Grand Style, as it needs doing proper, like.
Just take care not to over-egg the pudding, eh?
Take care and watch out for those frisky fillies if you are indulging in a bit of a flutter with them over the course of the holiday weekend..
I'll say no more, Squire!

Mrs B has just been rung by the doctors enquiring after her health and to inform her they many fluids they took from her have revealed a rather nasty virus/bug and she needs some specific drugs to deal with it. It's only been 3 months, 2 lots of aunty biotics, steroids etc...

So apparently I have to go in next week for the same tests... having been turned down any drugs by two doctors who said I just had to ride it out...

Indeed, sorry to hear it's taken so long for them to come up with some sort of treatment for both Mrs B and yourself Byker, but hopefully it will have you both feeling better sooner rather than later.

Having failed to record a score on the old Triv-o-meter earlier, I propose a recalibration?

In order to aid said recalibration....

Today, I dressed by putting on socks, first. Not First's socks as he was wearing 'em at the time...

My dear Pequod, matters of such import as the Anniversary of your Hatchling Day are not submitted for Triv-O-meter readings.

Only subjects of inconsequential mundacity are eligible, I'm afraid.

Your Sockson First submission has been referred to the Duty Triv-O-meter operator for consideration.
