Good aftermorn, everybody!

Today, I awoke bright and surly, so decided to head for Lymington for my morning walk, change of scenery, etc. Only a couple of donkeys on the road out of Beaulieu, but they were walking slowly along in the middle of the road, a few feet apart, thereby effectively closing the road in both directions. I knew that they had been working on some new tactical formations for Easter weekend.

I'm now about to head out to install my dash camera in the Golf, which could take a while. These otherwise simple jobs become fiendishly difficult as cars become increasingly complex, and the Golf is the most complex car that I have owned to date. I had a look at some videos on the Tube of You, but they weren't much help - I ignored any which began with "Wassup, guys!" on principle, and most of the others show how easy it is to install a specific dashcam which replaces part of the rear view mirror housing, and I haven't got one of those, so I'm reduced to grovelling about trying to locate a suitable fuse to piggyback from, once I've gained access to the fuse box by removing the glovebox.

It would be a very good idea if manufacturers provided a USB-c connector at the side of the rear-view mirror housing, but that would probably be too obvious.

I may be gone for some time...

Todays opposing conflicts.

Mrs B "You need to be resting" followed later by "the grass needs cutting", or some other job that needs doing.

We wandered around the dock today, found a marine museum we didn't know about, some other places we didn't know and found the train station at the end of the line. Opened in 1864 to serve the Royal Navy Dockyard.

It’s down in part of our main village Byker. We live a couple of miles uphill from there but have many friends in that street.

Worst flooding I’ve seen in 22 years here. This photo taken about an hour ago. The river is around 75 metres further on after that bend. The house contents I’ve been given are floating around in a house around that corner also which will have around 1 metre of water in now.

The fire brigade had just evacuated a Scottish couple from that White House on the corner. Their house is beautiful inside!
A few people in tears as we were there.
Dreadful for all living there. Non tidal river, I assume, so that water will be there for a while?

Thoughts and prayers to all involved...

IOTN: I managed to cut the lawn, post meridiem.

IOOTN: I have decided to eat Cook's steak pie for tea. The traditional Easter Chook will be on the me and you tomorrow like, and no mistake!

I'm really sorry to hear about the flooding Magoo, it's so incredibly destructive when a river bursts it's banks.

We spent around 3hrs in the garden today, 2 cuts of the lawn to bring it under control, dug out the lilac stump, that was hard going, and planted our Acer in it's place.
Sadly the garden is pretty much wrecked after the tree down, lots of bits of branches around still, the edge of the path on one side is damaged, there are patches where the panels were left, and a couple of deep divots I guess from bigger branches, hopefully it will come back a bit.

Nature will recover, Bobbers, however you will need to apply time to make your haven as you wish it to be.

Not if you don't have an open fire or a log burner old boy, not at all. Be a bit pointless, really.

Bit like having a laser level and not having any pictures to put up.

Sorry to hear about and see the flooding, Magoo. Sympathies to all those affected. frown

As for the pie...

Good for the Soul?

Yep, I concur with that hypothesis. smile

But this afternoon I opted instead for the deep fried whitebait with lemon and homemade tartare sauce, and very tasty fries and salad. Nom!

Unamused by my lack of sleep. Stupid BST. I’m not going to be mad at the toddler; he’s just being his best happy, but noisy, self.

Have yourselves a very chocolatey day smile
