Try a Pinot noir from the Alsace region Bobbers or a Bourgogne . https://www.bi1cave.fr/webSiteCaveBi1/fr/web-bi1/b...

Both very enjoyable.

Thanks chaps, I think I may have been expecting too much from it, with food it was a different wine, more of the fruit came out, but on its own it was just meh.
I'm a big fan of Malbec, so thought it would be similar, and it really wasn't, like Dicky I expect a good wine to taste like fruit gums, big, bold, Rich red fruit flavours.

In lieu of the fact we are moving soon and downsizing big time, today i have been in restrained demolition mode.

restrained slopes?

Yes, the wardrobes are being given to Her Ladyships workshy, free loading brother and so i have been taking them apart all weekend. Today a work colleague was going to come and help, mainly just for advice and to point me in the right direction as these futtin things are 7 feet tall blah blah.

He didn't show and so after waiting untul mid day, i said fut it and set to. One completely dis assembled and stored, another to go. First i need to get into our rented garage and do some major tidying up to enable us to get the bits into the garage until such time as said free loader can be arsed to come and collect them.

I have since decided that from now on, i probably wont help when people ask me for help - seeing as how every time i've asked for help and or advice, every bugger is always busy, yet expects me to drop everything and run when they want the same.

South African Pinotage is also good.

The trouble with chateauneuf du pape is it's just wine from a region, so you can get average as well as good ones.

We took all three grandkids and both dogs to a local park where they run a mini train ride. £2 for about a 10 min ride where you sit on small carriages. Great fun we all did it twice, taking turns to look after the dogs. I walked both dogs first to wear them out.

Then we came home to have the picnic we'd taken as it turned chilly, then played all afternoon. They all went home about 4pm. All worn out and so we're we but we had a fun day. Dressing up, I hid shells in same for them to dig up etc.

Just looking at some wines we have, reds are my thing. Mrs B prefers white.

Kleine Zalze, South African, do a good Shiraz

Tescos do it, would be the sort of fruits and pepper you'd expect from a cndp
https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/315...

Kanonkop black label pinotage, South African again, is amazing, but £100 plus a bottle of more depending on age, but you could try the Kadette, again at Tesco

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/306...

If you want french, then Aldi do a Château Les Trois Manoirs Medoc for £8.50 that's good for the price.

Coop have some nice Casablanca Valley Pinot Noir. Chile, I think is £8.50 or £9

I've cut back on wine drinking, so tend to find some slightly nicer bottles and make them last two nights.

Many many thanks Byker, I do enjoy a nice fruity wine, but my palate is crap and I'm no expert.
Mrs Bobbers likes the sound of theKleine Zalze, South African Shiraz and us going to grab a bottle!!!

This afternoon I made a little step up device for my elderly neighbour, to help her putting on her compression stockings.
It took about two hours and was made entirely from offcuts I had in the firewood pile.
She is super-chuffed with it.
Love it when a plan comes together.

The racing at Croft was most excellent. Saloon Endurance, Caterham, MX5s, Classic Hot Hatch, Alfa Romeo and Sport 1000.

I feel surprisingly chipper for not sleeping well and it being Monday morning.
Today I am wearing new jeans to work, I've been wearing chinos but with all the walking I do they don't last that long, I've chaffed through the crutch of 2 pairs in around 7 months.

We've discussed Post Watershed talk before. "Chaffed through the crutch," is entirely unacceptable at this hour. Members must wait until 9pm at the earliest for such outbursts.

I wouldn’t be seen drinking that pape rubbish to be honest Bobbers.

I find the southern hemisphere’s wine very ‘forced’ and leave a bitter taste.
Those I’ve recommended are quality wines.
Whatever red wine you buy leave it open for an hour before drinking.
