It was a lovely day when the sun was out. But, for the love of god, would the rain please fk off.

Predictions of impressive aurora tonight. Various weather related sites getting very excited. Clear here but we have a hill to the north of the house that typically blocks our view.

I put some 'weed & feed' on the lawns Friday afternoon and I'm still waiting for the rain that was forecast for Friday night to turn up and help wash it into the lawns.

Did you see a glimpse? I’m not in Uk right now but saw the red alerts. Fingers crossed you saw it.

I checked at dusk and it wasn't strong enough for the South - M62 and north should have had a chance...

BBC 14 day forecast features a raindrop on every single day. Lovely.

Judging by the BBC pressure map, there's a fat Atlantic low pressure system that's just sitting there, not moving and blocking any and all high pressure coming our way. Well..if there was any.

That sounds highly unlikely. Weather systems always move…more likely the models are very unsure what it will do.

True, I was just going off their long range pressure charts.

Fat low pressures can and do get stuck for limited amounts of time. Looks like high pressure to our NE, NW, SE, SW will keep it spinning on top of us. Not unknown at this time of year irked

I think the peak was early in the evening so not properly dark.

Colorado : 20c.
Also Colorado : Winter Storm watch for tomorrow.
-9c, ~10cm of snow and a 20 mile morning commute. Still snowing, but it shouldn't accumulate any more.

It is at least drier in the south - but that's not hard after record rainfall.

How long until you can start telling us with any confidence that actually this summer is going to be a belter?

I live in the North East where it's usually more often dry. The last 8 months has been rain the norm rather than the exception

It's around now that the real weather nerds can look at the big picture and make some educated guesses. I've seen nothing to lead me to believe we'll have anything but an Atlantic summer.

And what's the phrase for the summer I want (air from the SE, no rain, hot, sunny etc)? Very much 'non-Atlantic' ?
