As someone who sells convertible cars, I've been keeping a close eye on the weather to see if it was as bad as we all thought it was last year.

We've had four days in Surrey this year so far when it hasn't rained at some point during the day.

Four days.
That’s weird. On the south coast we’ve had 34 with 0mm and another 13 with less than 1mm ie negligible rain.

January was actually slightly drier than average here. February we had twice the long term average rainfall. March look like it’s going to be about 50% more than average. Total rainfall so far looks broadly similar to 2016, might just exceed it, won’t get close to 2014.

West Devon, out in the sticks:

About an inch of snow on the ground first thing this morning.
All gone now ‘cos it’s now pissing it down with more heavy rain and strong winds to follow.
F’ing miserable!

If it’s any consolation you can add 10hpa back on to the number then. Although I think it might still be a little bit out as that’s quite low

Another lovely crisp start to the day, clear blue skies. 90% chance heavy rain all afternoon is forecast.

Woke up to some lovely sun, although it was cold, and now wind and rain is settling in for the afternoon.

Long way to go yet in spring, but it hasn’t been the best start.

Saturday is looking dry - brief nudge of high pressure.

Sunday - lots of variance in the models. Good chance of prolonged rain from the South/SE

Yep, I was out this morning locally and it was like the very definition of miserable weather. Blowy, raining, roads with big puddles. Just utterly ste.

I need to start a winter sun travel company!
