There was another red alert during the night but I was asleep! It will be hard finding the sweet spot of a red ping, dark skies, and me being awake...

Yeah I remember in the 90’s going down to Torquay and it snowed.

Mays the time to get warmer. Aprils the it’s hot in the car in the sun but it’ll rain in a minute so your windows are up and down !

Yep, April for the last few years has been an anomoly - definitely 'back to normal' this year

Swear since I bought my car at the end of Jan it’s been washed twice. We have had 1 day where it didn’t rain.

I checked and we’ve had 42 days without rain, another 15 with less than 1mm ie negligible where I am on the south coast and yet it still feels like it hasn’t stopped until the last few days.

Yup, it’s a lifetime pursuit! But a worthwhile one Added to that sweet spot is ensuring you’re sufficiently enthused to drive out on yet another wild goose chase in the faint hope of seeing them!

My family has lived here for 40yrs and they’ve still not been able to see them (most like to them not generally being awake of a night!)

Been quite sunny over the last few days in Aberdeenshire with only the odd torrential hail shower blowing through! Wind has really died down though today so quite pleasant in the sun despite the low air temperature.

Hang in for what though? This weekend (which if I am reading correctly your screenshot is for) is showing cold temps and winds in from the north which usually means much cold as well. Or am I misunderstanding sumfink?

I think the nights will be chilli amd the day air temps will be lower but it should be clearer and less/no rain. Should feel warm if you can get out in the direct sun.
