I keep looking at trying to go away for a cheeky last minute week, somewhere warm but having not been away abroad for a few years, I am now staggered by how much things cost now. WTF.

Tell me about it! My flights to America have set me back almost £2000 for premium economy, business class was £5000!

I’m now hoping that Kentucky will be warm and dry, as the last time I left the UK (going to Italy) thinking it would be warm, I got storm warnings whilst I was sat in the departure lounge waiting to get on the plane. It was very very wet.

Wouldn't bother. It'll be cold wherever you're going. Just been to Italy and spent the whole time in a coat being blown about.

It’s the uk prices I’m staggered by. Finding you’re doing well to get v average (sometimes below) accommodation for less than £1k week. The brits are taking the mick on Air BnB. £120 a night for a shepherds hut in someone’s garden. Or £75 / night for a pitch in a field for a tent in Surrey. Ridiculous.

That said, doing a quick trip to London for work and the flights surprised me being £110 return with BA!

I know right?! We have friends in Rome and my wife went to visit her over a month ago and it was 22 degrees then. Everywhere seems stuck in this cold blob now. We’ve regressed!

Also what thread is this again? laugh

It doesn't seem to be getting much warmer.
Struggling to break into double digits here and forecast wet all next week again.

West Berks isn’t much better really. Spotted rains, and maybe 18° with wall to wall cloud.

Winter coat is back out of the cupboard, I'm wearing a jumper in preparation for a lunch later on a 'heated' terrace.

I should be in shorts and a t-shirt deciding which pair of sunglasses to wear FFS.

Day out in London for me. Should be there by about 1pm.

And I should get an hour before the heavens open for the rest of the day….

Ugh.
