Both my parents are in their 80's and both living a great lives, which brings me much joy as they've both out lived me

When it's my time to go, for good, I'd be happy to go the way I went, quick painless and without any warning asleep in my bed

Just this time I'd prefer if my kids are not there to witness me dying again

Mid-80's would be a good age, reckon I'll have seen and done everything I'll have wanted do by then

As long as I'm in reasonable health and life has more plusses than minuses. My grandfather thoroughly enjoyed his old age and only became infirm in the last few months of his 104 years, but he was one of the lucky ones

80 would be ok for me so any time after that. You see some proper old people wandering around and it doesn't look like a great quality of life.

94 would be good, to beat my grandad (93), father (58)
I’m 62 so currently running second!
Still doing 5k in 20 mins on a good day. Own teeth.
Maybe they will cure death/aging soon though.

That's a really good 5k time for 62.
So if the grim reaper does knock on your door, have faith you'll out run him!

Currently 56, just done 2 years on a boat floating around S Pacific, moving to a new city/country next week.
I think I'd like to go at 70, before if dementia or mobility issues

His parents are alive and well

He, however, is dead.

He is going to die again though and this time he wants to do it without his kids watching.

(Sounds like they might have seen this more than once?)

Makes perfect sense.

Has he been “dead” and resuscitated and is making drama out of a crisis (from his past)?

I think being resusetated would not be making a drama...

I work with someone who is 107 next month! They still read a daily paper and played piano until recently.
As long as I have my faculties and am mobile I’d be happy to carry on.

Long enough to help my kids bring up their kids. Be there for babysitting, be able to do things as a 3-generation family.

That’ll do me. I’m 44, my kids are 17 and 14 so I hope that’s not an unreasonable aim.
