I don't fill them out, I feel they're only used as a stick to beat employees with, and I have no interest in participating in or encouraging them.

If I have an issue with your service etc, you will hear about it.
They're the bastion of lazy management used to control employees and used to provide good excuses to stop them progressing getting pay-rises, get fired etc.

I had to visit a bank branch a few months ago because I couldn't do something online or over the phone and got told to visit a branch (despite having been able to do said task over the phone before). Got the usual rating email after they couldn't help me smile

Then visited the hollowed out bank branch which still had a handful of staff retained. The poor woman there who provided excellent service and sorted out the problem then explained that I'd probably get an email asking for a rating of the service at some point - "please give me a 9 or a 10, they're looking to close our branch". Surprise, surprise, I never got an email asking for feedback .....

Asked after a BMW Service; "Is there any reason you wouldn't give a 10/10 for the service as we are incentivised on maximum scores?"

I said I would think about it and speak to my best mate who is the marketing director for that chain....

Google has a habit of asking me to review places I have walked past, or stopped in a car park nearby. Or places that you don't need to review - such as the railway station. You either need to use the station or you don't, nobody is going there for fun, and its no like you can go to another one if you don't like this one.
I get that, it's because I reviewed a kebab shop once. It just happens to be the best kebab shop in the world, but has now closed, so I think their loyal following occasionally checks in on Google Maps to see if they've opened up again. My review included a picture of the most amazing chicken tikka kebab you can imagine, so it has a lot of traction.

In other words, we are both important influencers and Google would like us to influence some more.

Decathlon are doing one at the moment. They're seeking feedback on their recently tarted up but still pretty crap website.

First question was something along the lines of 'How well does our website reflect the Decathlon brand values?'

Speaks volumes about the marketing wkers who drive most of this nonsense.

To me, these things appear to be a tool for lazy management to beat their staff with. With that in mind, I have taken the view that a management tool should be paid for and if I'm not getting paid to provide my feedback, I'm not providing it.

In a previous job I had a DELL engineer come out to one of our sites to replace a faulty part on a server.

After he finished he informed me that I would be getting a satisfaction survey by email and that how he would like me to give him 10/10 for the sections regarding the engineer as he felt he did his job well and therefore couldn't expect anything less than 10/10.

I think I gave the cheeky fker 4/10 laugh
You'd think OK service should get an OK score but these surveys expect that you'll give a 10 unless there's some specific reason not to.

To be fair, when I was working it was more a tool for upper management to beat my manager with to get me to beat my staff with. biggrin Except I didn't, unless they had completely messed up (which was very rare thankfully).

I'd forgotten all about the corporate wk and marketing twaddle that would get pushed down onto us after two years being retired...I'd better stop reading as it just annoys me and reminds me why I gave up the job early as soon as I realised I could. biggrin

the "are you enjoying this app" prompts are sneaky. If you say yes, it'll direct you to the app store to give a good score. If you say no, it'll direct you to their own "how could we do better?" page, so as not to pollute their app rating with bad reviews.

I've been with my present company for 8 years and only found out last week that we have reviews on our website. We have 3 senior officers, myself included, who only spend about 3 hours a week in the office, the rest of the time we're out in the community running drop in sessions.
Luckily they were all positive but it would have been nice to have been told about big brother watching me.
