Secret Room 2 ....... "Nazi Bunker"
Discussion
Looking at the two photographs it is hard to tell because of potential seasonal differences in the vegetation. It looks as if the rock fall may have happened between the 1944 and 1945 photos, but it may just be seasonal variation.
These photos were normally taken in pairs for stereoscopic viewing. If you have the pairs then you can make a viewer. It might help. I gather you can post these so it rapidly switches between the two photos and provides a similar effect.
If the Royal Engineers inspected and collapsed your tunnel, as reported that doesn’t preclude the Germans having collapsed the cliff over another tunnel or tunnels.
If that collapse did happen between November 1944 and February 1945 then it infers the Germans hiding something. Hitler had appointed a fanatical commander for the islands and it was feared that he would try to hold out even after Germany had fallen. However that doesn’t preclude him taking precautions against the conclusion of the war, which must have been obvious by February 1945.
Looking at the southern end of the photos, there are two white rectangular objects of different sizes. I wonder if they may be a gate controlling access to the higher land above the quarry. When you look at the warehouse in the different photos then the area just to the south appears to be a camouflaged building. Assuming the tunnels were collapsed then their function might have needed to be taken over by the addition of the new warehouse. As communication with German held mainland was difficult by February 1945 this may not be very solid. Materials couldn’t get through.
In the February 1945 photo we see more vehicles. Either there was more activity, or previously we couldn’t see that activity, possibly because it was underground.
The concrete behind the garage appears to have been whitewashed on the underside, any thoughts why?

If I recall the story correctly even at the last moment he was prevaricating and was bluntly told that if the German garrison resisted that he would be hung.....the reasoning being that his country had unconditionally surrended and therefore he would not be treated as an enemy combatant under the Geneva Convention. It worked.Glad to see the blog still getting updated.
Hi all, thanks to CY88 for the guided tour, that really is a well built shelter. I was surprised CY let me in for a look around, but what a fine chap he is.
I must take you for a spin in the Scorpion if you're ever in these parts, CY.
I didn't realise until later that Jersey is an old volcanic plug, so once loose material is shovelled out of the way, the cliff should stay there. Hopefully, anyway.
Thanks once again,

Anything happening like maybe some heavy machinery this weekend CY88, or a update on the big seceret...............please???
Its gone really quiet?
I met up with diggerman today. For one reason or another (holidays and other bookings), it looks like the earliest I'm going to be able to start excavating again is the first week in August Its gone really quiet?

I watched that. Very interesting. Shame CY88 doesn't have a 7 story AA battery.Hatch..... ? All in good time
Believe it or not, I hadn't accurately measured the dimensions of the bunker until today. In the interests of scale then, while we knew it was 60 feet long, I now know that it's 120 inches (10 feet) wide at the entrance (measured between the concrete base walls), tapering in slightly to around 115 inches wide at the rear. It's 96 inches (8 feet) high to the centre of the ceiling arch, and slightly lower at the rear (the floor slopes to the entrance, presumably to ensure drainage).
With MX5 for scale

Looks to me more a storage for 1940's version of the Nazi Attack-Goomba.
