Good work. It's got everything: Diggers, destruction of perfectly good shrubbery, intrigue, getting the boys round, telling the Mrs after you started.

I wonder what stuff they found around the place to seal in there? Probably a bunch of stuff that was hard to get rid of (even back then)....tons of asbestos sheets, rusting drums full of mystery chemicals..... You could end up wanting to seal it back in there before the enviromental protection people see it...

Cheers,

FT.

great stuff, I'm looking forward to regular updates!

And the best thing, even if you don't find anything, you get a new store out of it!

Brilliant! Bookmarked (for the first time ever).

Now all we need is the old caretaker to dress up as a radioactive monster to scare you pesky kids away from his hidden money printing presseswink

CY88 - If you're in Guernsey then I'd love to come and help. I spent a lot of my early teens illicitly getting into bunkers and tunnels, and have been fascinated by them ever since. It would be great to help out legitimately.

Mornin'. The neighbours stores etc arent covered over and even if they were not with boulders THAT big! Surely its blasted rock etc covering something that someone wanted hidden for a while.

whistle Sell me the house, move on as there is nothing to see here. Worse-case its a couple of POW's/unluckies who were shot and hidden (however why not just bury them?). Its got to be something else.

(Bookmarked)

Ah the Dad would have got there first. Big enough to drive into? A tank store from Bombers?

I dont think blasted rock is nice and round. I'm wondering if it's just been filled with earth and rock that someone dug out of someplace else and had knowhere to put.... Still I want more pictures over the weekend damn it, or I'll come down their with my beach bucket and spade!...

Great thread! Bookmarked!

Dont know if this has been mentioned - is it possible that the 'store' in your neighbours land (or the one down the road) may have a linking tunnel to your one?

Maybe you could get inside using a back door?

I doubt that he will find something on the channel islands as those bunkers have probably been well cleaned after the war.

When I was a boy we used to break into bunkers (they were bricked up) in the sand dunes near Scheveningen in Holland.(part of the Atlantic wall)

Some tunnels (that connected bunkers) used to run for miles, in one bunker we found remains of burned out cars.
Amunition was also found regularly, it was dangerous as it was unstable.
One idiot took a grenade home and tried to dismantle it, it exploded.
He ended up in hospital with major injuries, he survived though.

Just think, if you find nothing but a big room, it would make a nice storage area and potentialy increase the value of your property if restored into something of use like a garage or workshop.

If its full of Nazi rubbish with a few weapons and maybe a tank stored there then expect to be on the news biggrin
