Can anyone recommend an artist in Edinburgh or Glasgow maybe? Somewhere I can go in and chat to them about designs etc. I want a reasonably large piece doing over chest, shoulder, and top of my arm that will also cover-up two other pieces that are only in green ink (so I'm hoping they are coverable).
Yep. Go to the airport, fly to Belfast, go to Belfast City Skinworks, see Tommy or Jamie. I made a mistake once, I got a tattoo somewhere else. Never again.
I had 4 hours of my sleeve done to start it off. Will be many more hours yet but I'm happy with this to start. Plan is to have another engine internals picture on the other side of my forearm then have vines joining to chains wrapping around. This will turn to flowers by by elbow but with mechanical parts integrated. Then further flowers up the top of mr arm.

Nice. I'm liking that.The artist is called Ceco (pronounced Set-so I believe). He works at Vivid ink in Sutton Coldfield. He was originally a guest artist as he’s from Bulgaria but now works there full time. There are several good artists at the studio.
My next sitting in on the 23rd February and I can’t wait.

I am just back from Cuba.....have to say I saw some really shoite tattoes there amongst the Brits and Canadians.....when I see them I always think.....why?....what's the point....I think it is especially not a good look on women who are fat and boy there were plenty of those around.
No I don't have a tattoo and I am never likely to have one either.....but as ever....to each their own.

Think you need to visit this thread rather than this one:No I don't have a tattoo and I am never likely to have one either.....but as ever....to each their own.

Plenty of judgemental folk visit that thread.
OK, after sitting in a tattoo parlour whilst my bro got one done, I a feeling the urge to get another, or 2, so have been contemplating what to get. I want to go simple line design, and these will go on the inside of my forearms... So... The first idea is set. I know what I am getting, Darwin's tree), but for the other arm I want something to do with the planets. I like the planet design on the Pioneer 10 and 11 plaques;
So that is one idea, just a straight copy, in black, but I had the idea to have a very thin line drawn and have the planets set along that in a very, very simple diagram, a bit like this, (sorry, I'm no artist}
The centre line would be far thinner in reality, but am unsure if it looks any good, or if some of you folks have an idea that may be better, or some ideas for this design. For example, I'm not sure if I should have the line running through the planets, or just from planet to planet, so to speak, like this;
So, all I am after is some ideas on design, or whether I should just copy the plaque, or not... Bit undecided at the moment. Obviously the quick sketches I just did in skitch will be fettled to make the relative sizes a bit better, etc.
Cheers!
ETA... Maybe with a hint of the asteroid belt?
