Nature stuff looks amazing when done right.

I think with skin colour it's pretty straight forward - the lighter the skin, the better it is to tattoo. I'm sure artists wouldn't turn down someone with dark skin, but there has to be the understanding that the work won't be as clear or colourful on a darker pigment.

I know a girl with milky white skin and they look amazing on her, as it's like drawing on crisp white canvas.

Roses are a good base for a cover up, that's why they are used so much on Tattoo Fixers and that like.
Yeah I get that but they are feminine. Watching this weeks programme now and it reminded me of my post.

Guy 1 comes in and wants turn of the century artifacts or scene - she does a gramophone (good) surrounded by... yep roses - guy doesn't chose!

Guy 2 - old Essex dad who is obviously it of a lad in his day and an utter tt. He has a large back tattoo of a lizard with a tongue licking a slutty looking ladies' exposed labia. They have to keep lizard as its too bold.

What does she suggest to cover he lady and surround the lizard? A load of flowers FFS
"That's worse than the woman". rofl

And yes its an old sailor tattoo.

One on the way out and one on the return to home. I've done some travelling and always come back.

I like the design. Nobody else has to like them but as above i'm chuffed.
i like them. i've been thinking of getting a trad/sailor tattoo but it seems the decent artists in this style aren't easy to book time with. i also think i will look a dick with a tatoo. however i'm passing through amsterdam on my way home in a few weeks though and this place does walk ins on a saturday, so i might just have a look.

Jammes in High Wycombe is very good. His style is quite dark so would be good for a cover.

My friend has applied to go on this! My youngest lad likes it, if only for the amount of dodgy tattoos that get covered with often even dodgier tattoos... Not the best tattooists around. But easy on the eye...
I've been watching tattoo fixers lately.... for me it is a program which falls into the category of 'so bad it is actually good'. However the tattoos they produce do not look good to my eyes at all........ especially the woman who covers everything with fking flowers. None of it looks great on the brief close ups they show.

And many of the people on the show have one dodgy tattoo from a drunken incident on holiday or whatever..... they are clearly not lifelong tattoo fans. I can't help but wonder if they wouldn't be better getting it removed rather than covered up with something even bigger and bolder.

What surprises me is most of the complaints seem to be based on the fact that the show is scripted and employs actors (i.e. the receptionist). Are people really so stupid they believe the whole thing is 'real', or are they just seeking 5 seconds more fame by making the complaints?

When you apply to go on TV surely you can expect to visit a filming set environment and not a typical tattoo studio? FML how dim are these people.

I do have a few tattoo's and mostly on my forearms. I have been thinking of getting them removed for sometime now. They are hidden with long sleeve but I would like to wear short sleeves at times and simply won't due to my regret of them and it does make me feel a bit on the chav side, which is daft. I was early 20's and it seemed a great idea. I would not remove the ones on my shoulder but seriously thinking it is time for the forearm tats to go.

The idea that Sketch is one of the Top 3 tattooists in the UK is hilarious.

He's been tattooing less than 3 years and is self-taught from a Chinese tattoo machine he bought on eBay.

His tattooing is HORRIBLE, and pretty much any professional tattoist hates him. There is a massive campaign to get him off the tv as it is ruining the perception of the UK tattoo industry if people think that his work is the highest standard in the UK.

Saw this one being applied a few months ago at a bike show/tattoo expo here in the Philippines. The girl is Karen Blixen, the real woman behind the movie, Out Of Africa.

My cheap camera phone really doesn't do the tattoo justice.

Yes, I think it is the edge of some other tattoo, can't remember now. Only have a couple of pics too.
