That sounds better..

Ink isn't great at small details generally, and time isn't kind to detail in any tatt.

Find a good artist and discuss your requirements with them.

They will tell you what will work and won't work.
Did you get booked in somewhere in the end?

Pvapour - the trouble with fingers and hands is they're constantly exposed to the elements (how much time does your other half spend at re kitchen sink for example? smile), sunlight, being washed, stretched etc this will wear the ink out, it'll fade fast more so over knuckles and joints.

Also if you've been together 30 years? Your skin might not be as smooth as it once was, not meaning to sound rude! But this will also have an effect frown

A decent, honest tattooist will tell you what's best. But bare in mind there are also those that will tell you it'll be fine because they want the business.

Good luck and congratulations.

Me & my lady are getting wed shortly and are having wedding rings tattooed so it can be more than just a piece of metal, or we'd like it to show something of what we mean to each other, 3D gears and chain that appear beneath out skin.

Neither of us have tattoos so completely in the dark and understand from a few that 3D stuff is pretty tough to do properly, any suggestions? We're going to fly to uk to get them done so anywhere in the country is fine
Have a look on the brag art list app for some good artists http://thebragartlist.mobuapps.london/

Has links to instagram and facebook pages so you can view styles and get ideas smile

My understanding is that Polish Dan from True Colour in York would probably be your best bet, providing you have deep pockets and are willing to waitsmile.

My girlfriend just got her first - go hard or go home, she went for a bum-to-knee phoenix in a sketch style. I'm utterly in love and now even more impatient for my consultation on October 1st... considering hibernating through September.

Sounds great. Really liking this girl's work at the moment (linked as it ties into star wars post above).

Flying out to Salon Serpent Saturday after next. Kyler Martz is guesting from the States and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Bearing in mind Angelique's style, I thought I would get pin up (of sorts!) by him: Lady on the Rocks. Just need to figure out where to put her now...

Like that Lady on rocks design.

The gull with woman's face and anchor to the right is slightly odd.

That is awesome. Love that.

Another really cool sketch artist is this girl - https://www.instagram.com/milky_tattoodles/?hl=en

I wouldn't want one personally but I love them on other people if that makes sense?

You'll like Jason... Adelina then...

I have a large piece by Math and he does trash style Star Wars as well for a slightly different take. See here... here... here or here

I was going to ask... Even on the phone it looked a bit too perfect.
