I've had tattoos done by several different artists and I've found the pain is more dependent on the artist than the location.

Girl in Essex was agony from first touch and after 2 hours I was done, girl in Chester (sadly now moved away) I could sit for 7-8 hours.

Not to say the inner upper arm isn't still very painful of course!

We’ve discussed options to frame it which would involve going lower but undecided just yet.

You were all close, but it was a swimming experiment to test the steam line capabilities of hairless legs vs Bush.

On a separate note, will post a pic of my calf tattoo when the redness has died down a little.

Done by a local artist, lovely guy and gentle with the needle and wiping which is always a relief.

Will be back to get my shin done in the new year to complete the half leg.

Very cool mate. Yeah you definitely start to see the difference between some artist's 'touch' when you've had a lot of work, sometimes it feels like they're trying to wipe the tattoo off with the paper towel laugh

This is so true! I've had one artist who I swear wipes with the paper towel more times than he applies the ink!

Also had both feet by different artists, one was a breeze, the other the worst expireance I've had being tattooed.

Does make such a difference. Let's face it tattoos hurt, but there is different degrees of by how much. And whilst I know some of that's how you prepare for the day (not hung over, eaten properly etc) the other half is how considerate the tattooist is in my opinion.

Like that. I’m fact so much so it’s finally made me (re) bite the bullet and drop an email to an artist I’ve admired for while. Almost didn’t expect a response but they’re up for what I want! And I’m in. Albeit next Spring but happy to take a cancellation if it works. Will be an entire day. Just hope o can take the pain.
