That's absolutely breathtakingly good.

It's almost unreal looking such is the vibrancy. Awesome

I’ve booked an entire day as he wants to do it in one. Ouch. But I’m so excited so will grin and bear it. Plus I have a feeling he’s going to be a big thing and move to far off places. It’s happened before haha so I want this piece finished. I’m in with Kyle Warwick for a graffiti portrait of a self portrait from an artist I love. He’s got free rein to interpret in to his style.

Awesome, really like Kyles work!
It’s been six years since I last had anything. I’ve posted here about looking for someone with traditional style, clear, neat lines for something sweet and simple. Finally found someone for that and had this gap filler done at the weekend with Ash Hickman to break me back in gently.

I’m even more excited for my day with Kyle now. And desperate to book in with Lianne Moule after following her for years - I’ve decided what and where I’d love her work.

And then there’s my lower right leg…

Age 50 - Never had a tattoo.

Did the "Service Animal" questionnaire thing at work and said I would get a tattoo of the resulting animal if my team raised £1k for Cancer Research.

Turns out I am an Owl.

Worst thing was I told the team they can choose the tattoo and they came up with this;

This is brilliant!

Any update?

A talented artist could do something very cool with that design yes

Adam.

I see from your profile that you're Midlands based?

I can recommend John Lewis at Life and Death Tattoos in Shrewsbury for black and grey detail work. He's done portraits, animals, but also other realism pieces like buildings and cars / engines: https://instagram.com/tattoosbylewis?igshid=YmMyMT...
Thanks for this recommendation back in August last year, today was my appointment and I'm really pleased with it. John was great and although im not used to lying on my front the time on the table flew by.

Thank you, it's exactly how I wanted it.

They are, real nice mix of folk and very entertaining to be around whilst still being professional.

Cheers, I think it's pure black and white but I was facing the wrong way so I can't be sure. It's my 1st tattoo for over 20 years so I'm no expert on the subject.

What was the calf like for you? Other the. Lying face down. I’m booked in in a few weeks for a few hours on my right calf and in May for around eight hours work on left calf/side.

The actual tattooing bit I found quite easy, tickled more than anything. I nearly fell asleep a couple of times but it was more uncomfortable on the knees, shoulders and neck. We did roughly 3.5 hours with me only getting up for about 10 minutes for lunch.

I got my first tattoo last year, no regrets apart from very occasional itchiness! Anyone else randomly get a raised and itchy tattoo that comes and goes despite it already being healed?

Got a neo-traditional black and grey on the outside upper arm last year but really not sure where to go to next in terms of placement. Was thinking a different style - likely illustrative/fine line but don’t know if that would look weird on the inside arn opposite the one I have already.

Suppose there shouldn’t be any rules to it really.

I'm thinking about something on the shin now, have you done that? I didn't think the calf was bad at all, more tickley than painful.

My leg appears to be all healed now. Took about 10 days from the appointment, it was really easy to heal with no itching and as far as I can tell there's no ink drop out.

I used these on it and I'm really impressed with them. https://www.storiesandink.com/products/tattoo-afte...

The tattoo is really awkward to photograph myself, it looks distorted but in reality it's not, it's just how it wraps around my leg.
