Greg Davies.

Love the inbetweeners, so when I saw he was on at the Comedy Store Shake With Laughter fund raiser for Parkinsons last week I booked tickets. He was first on and walked in with pieces of A4 paper in his hand, it honestly looked like he had been asked to go on 30 minutes previously and did no preparation.

Proceeded to ramble on for 15 minutes about things his mum had said that were apparently hilarious.

One of the worst acts I have seen at the Comedy Store.

Luckily I didn't even know Russell Kane was going to be on until I saw him head out the back, he was absolutely fantastic.

Never seen such st since Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy.
Jesus I'd forgotten about that. How Noel Fielding can look at himself in the mirror after churning out that st is beyond me. I like a bit of surreal comedy but when you listen to people who are actually good at it talking about their craft you realise a lot of thought goes into the apparent randomness. Noel Fielding clearly just thought he could chuck any old guff together and it would be funny because he's some kind of genius. It wasn't and he's not. Doubtless he's coining it in with Bake Off but one day he will atone for the abomination that was Luxury Comedy.

he does have a quite strong niche following though.

Oh look Paddy McGuiness is coming to Topgear with his joke.

(Stu Lee credit for the joke)
is he actually a comedian though? He's kind of a comic actor / presenter... ish. Not sure he does stand up.

I think as they recruited him and flintoff it seems they just wanted nuts magazine LADS, rather than comedians.
Made his name by riding on the coattails of the almost equally unfunny Peter Kaye.

Would have helped himself if he hadn’t pretended to be 22 for about 20 years.

Eddie Izzard - yes he does a lot of running for charity and I used to like some of his appearances on chat shows but I went to see him live at Motorpoint Cardiff with my wife who had a similar prior opinion on him.

I can honestly say neither of us laughed once, it was so painfully obvious that even his apparent adlibs and going off at a tangent were completely rehearsed.

Thread end?

Is he still using his “cat drilling for oil” joke?

More to the point, he must be doing badly if he has to do gigs at a car supermarket...

Saw him at a corporate event a few years back - really toe-curlingly awful and completely 'lost' the audience. In fairness he seemed genuinely troubled by his first marriage breaking down (which he mentioned). Actually felt sympathy for the guy. By contrast, when I've seen him on TV he's always been pretty good!

Goth girls are fit! all dark and mysterious and like a bit of PVC... apart from the scary tubby ones that look like they might knife you if you ate their biscuits

He used to be a must-watch stand up but then went downhill faster than bowling ball dipped in grease. Shame really.

Ross Noble

I like him guesting on QI and HIGNFY ,because he does nice short surreal situation.

HOWEVER the had a stand up show shown on TV some years ago and i gave up after 5mins. Also on one of the 'Before they were famous;' shows they showed one of his first appearance, BUT he insisted that no sound as he was so bad....

Jesus H... You couldnt fit enough nails on a blackboard to recreate how annoying and obnoxious her laugh is! it's worse than Jimmy Carr's laugh and thats saying something!
I had to Google her too; watched a short clip of her stand-up - predictably it was describing her sex life in graphic detail.

At least Jimmy Carr admits that he has a terrible laugh.

Tried watching that episode of HIGNFY last night. Has to be the worst I've seen. Who the hell is that woman anyway? Awful.

Goths tend be chubby boys rather than sexy girls.

Marilyn Munster - None less Goth.

Kevin Bridges anyone?

Just one long conversation, but hilarious.

(This could be on the wrong thread)
