Comedians should by now understand that we dont care for political jokes whatever the political colour

We have all lost our sense of humour when it comes to politics. We are tired of politics, the old saying 'it would be funny if it weren't so tragic' is very apt right now.
Its just not funny anymore, politics is one level off the bottom and thats why people are throwing stuff and booing 'comedians' off stage.

Who are they going to book next year, Stewart Lee or Jo Brand?

I suppose with Jo they will get some left wing violence (acid attack) jokes rather than politics.

That is a weird jab at the audience, Maybe the questions should be, Why don't the left put their own money into more charities.

Nish Kumar should be stabbed repeatedly with a sharpened baguette, he and Hugh Dennis are two of the least funny comedians on TV at the moment, and unfortunately they're on TV (and the radio) rather too often.

Interesting one this - politics right now is absolutely ripe for plundering, the politicians are writing the material for us. See The room Next door by Michael Spicer: https://www.michaelspicer.co.uk/the-room-next-door Some absolute gold in there.

However, there's a time an a place for NIsh Kumar and it's not at a charity dinner. I think I would have taken my drink and gone for a 20 minute smoke to avoid him.

I would imagine there is only one reason why Nish Kumar is on tv.

2 reasons, one of them is he supports brexit the other is he's a tt, no, a tick box.

I find it annoying that it is acceptable for their to be regular comedy on mainstream media regarding brexiteers but if it is at the expense of remainers it is not.

I saw Milton Jones live last year - it was a bit torturous.
He really is terrible. I love comedy and will often admire the craft of people I don't find funny but Milton Jones has no redeeming features. Glad he seems to have run his course.
In what way?

He was quite fresh when he started a few years but but after looking him up and seeing old clips on YouTube it looks like he has been peddling the same old jokes since the mid 1990s.

You've never heard of Russell Howard then?

I quite liked him on panel shows. Tbh I don't remember the gig that well, but do remember the best bit was a small bit of audience participation right at the end - a couple of mates had left already to go to the pub instead of watching.

His jokes were either short one liners or really long meandering stories with very little pay back.

The other thing I noticed was loads of fans with messy hair and laity shirts.

It was a strange booking for Nish, it's a mystery why his agent accepted it AND didn't warn him of the likely audience demographic. .

It certainly a learning curve for Nish, in that not everyone likes to be told they are thick for voting for Brexit
in the same manner as those of Asian extraction don't like being told they smell of curry.

That strikes me as an unusual conclusion to reach.

Getting away from Nish Kumar for the moment, earlier I saw an advert for Nina Conti doing a few weeks at the Soho Theatre.

Just how many years has she been doing that face mask ventriloquist thing now. It was funny when I saw her do it for about 3 minutes on a royal variety performance or something back however many years ago. But I've no idea how people get through an hour of that, if that's what her show still consists of, which is what the poster/advert suggests.

She doesn't do it for her full set. She only had one couple up when I seen her. I though it was very funny actually. Basic humour, but effective.

I guess when you're not a mainstream comedian that your material lasts for much longer. Not everyone will have seen every YouTube clip and get the Christmas DVD to see all the material.

It is. Though I guess but a million miles away from "you look like the people who colonised my ancestors".
