Worse still, I used to work with a guy who signed off with 'brgds'.
It annoys me where people have "Kind Regards" and their name embedded into their email signature so they never have to type it.

Well how do you work that out? how is it more functional? it sounds just bloody awful, but I guess being an 'alternative theropist/quack' you are qualified to pass this sort of judgement. its the bloody agricultural racket that get me, drives me nuts.

"you are feeling sleepy, very sleepy' new age BS, maany years ago got ripped off by one of you snake sales men' bunch on con-artists
I enjoy the low down torque and the practicality of cost on my regular long journeys. But then I also enjoy the noise and experience of the Tiv.

Thank you for taking the time to type some personal insults. I see how it improved your argument.

It probably annoyed them to have to set up a company templated sig in the first place.

DHL. The supplier of my new laptop texts me to let me know the tracking number and that it will be delivered today (while I'm in work). Then text a few mins later to say "here's the number, go to this website to rearrange delivery".

So I go online to arrange to collect. First available date is tomorrow. No indication anywhere on the site of where I collect it from (but I expect the address is on the card through my door at home). I go ELSEWHERE on the DHL site to find where to collect it and find the nearest depot to me is in Northampton about 25 mins drive away. And its only open until 6pm. And is closed at weekends. And I work in London and don't get back to Milton Keynes much before 6, never mind Northampton.

Whoo, 10/10 for customer service there...!
Get it delivered to you at work ?
Not really an option where I am. Hoping I can take the afternoon as leave tomorrow and go and pick it up. The card they left tells me I can actually pick it up at a service centre in Bletchley which is closer than Northampton, so that's something at least. But yes, a 24 hour a day business that only allows you to collect during office hours. When most people are indeed out at work these days. Mad.

Who's mad? Do you want to pay the extra to have it delivered after hours? Or are you mad for not reading the terms and conditions and having it delivered in the timeframe offered to the place you are in at the time!?

Why not get it delivered to a relative or mate / neighbour?

Blimey, what's your problem? I work 70 miles away from home so am not home during the week in office hours. I've already said office delivery isn't an option. The only extra option offered was for a saturday delivery - but I'm away every other weekend, so not ideal either. No option to pay extra for after hours was given.

SO, I opted for them to try and deliver so they leave a card or leave it with a neighbour if they're in - I always do this. If I need to collect, I can then go and get the package when I get home. Every other courier I've collected from is open until at least 7pm, allowing me time to go and pick up. DHL is the first one I've come across that isn't.

So yes, I think DHL's restricted (compared to the competition) opening hours are mad! Its 2011, most people are at work during office hours and can't necessarily be that flexible with their domestic arrangements.

If that's what you believe? Perhaps you might like to read my original comment once more. It was not a personal attack on you as you seem to believe.

Believing Jamie Oliver last night on his 1/2hr cooking program, telling me to go to the fridge, get a small lump of cheddar cheese, put a teaspoon of honey over it and sprinkle some fresh ground coffee over it! Bloody horrid frown
