I constantly see one for 75 pence or two for £1.50 and the idiots go for it.

Without knowing more, I'd suggest some numpty has put out either the wrong shelf-edge ticket or the incorrect promotional advertising...?

So, what if you spotted the error and wanted to buy 2 bottles. I presume you would have to purchase them as separate transactions to get them at £1 each confused

6 pack of 1/2 size tin of heinz beans 3 quid
6 pack of normal heinz beans 2 quid.

Get me some - and some beans, if your going to be in aisle 13 i'll have some of those pasta dishes too. Quadruple clubcard points on those if you eat the packageing.

Lidl (who I work for) were selling 2 litre bottles of pepsi and 7 up for 50p each last week. Irn Bru was 99p too.

2 for £2.50 is pretty funny though.

My dad would, pisses me and my mum off though as well.
His reasoning is "I can't finish a whole large tin in one go, so why buy it when I can finish a half tin in one go"

Anyone wanna give him a slap for me?

It's a pic'n'mix offer that no doubt includes a load of drinks that may be 85/90p each. It makes sense if you don't view that product in isolation....

they do! I had cucumbers on sale for 15p and this little old lady wouldnt buy one as she'd "only use half". Just throw the other half in the freaking bucket then you daft cow! Its only 15p! She probably blew £40 that day on frigging bingo anyway!

I can back that up at the photo shows 80p for 350ml whereas you can pick up ( i hope im right ) a 500ml with it to make it £1.60 which infact would be cheaper

Yes ive had a fking boring night and have had one of those mondays where your not in the right midframe atall whatsoever, and am continuing to do so right now.

Sadly, till systems don't seem to have evolved - at least, the ones at work still do this! Can't work out when something is reduced!

Welcome folks, one and all, to the dizzying spectactle that is tesco pricing strategy!!!!

  • ** cue, cheering and audience clapping to a cheesy 80's game show soundtrack!! ****

Recently thanks to a bout of family illness, I have been taking the unusual step of piloting a shopping trolley and procuring the comestibles for my family.

Having viewed many a curious price I asked someone in the know what the deal-e-o was?

Some of the "bargains" that I have seen in my travels....

Small washing liquid that is demonstratably cheaper per 100ml than the larger size despite the large size haveing a whopping three pounds knocked off it's price!

Small coffee jar that is shockingly cheaper than buying in larger quantities.

I could go on.

The reason for this is sinister, yet somewhat genius in it execution.

Remember those price comparison adverts? It's all for the benefit of those, the "basket" that they employ is very specific and the store will happily just discount the size that is in the basket!!!

Happy shopping!
