Moving out of the Christmas thread, I have said that due to being totally skint, all I want for Christmas is to finish my lads toylander.

A couple of kind souls have said they have items which might help.

This thread is so as not to hijack the other one.

So, kind souls, remind me of what you may be able to help with, what you would like in return etc.

To those not viewing the other thread: I have the body built, a friend has offered to spray it for me, I need motors, badges, axles etc

Anyone able to help make Xmas happy fir my lad, following the year from hell.

as said in the other thread ive got windscreen wiper motors, a steering wheel (can have the whole rack if you want it), and landrover badges. What is it you need to make the bonnet?

The rack would be hugely welcome, as would the badges.
Let me know what you want for the bits, I will sort something out

Many thanks

And the wiper motors having reread your post!
The bonnet is made if rolled aluminium but think I may have to forget that and improvise an MDF one

Cheers,

I am also down the road (Middleton) and should be able to help.

If you want any vinyls for it etc, I can do those for you. Infact anything design related...can turn a spanner too though.

I have the gearbox and rear axle from a sit on lawn mower. The correct chain is still with it. I have the drive pulley from the original engine which matches the pulley on the gearbox. I also just remembered that I have the steering rack from the lawn mower (quick-rack, 1/4 turn, lock to lock! wink )

Like I said it will be the 15th Nov before I can get them, but you are more than welcome to them.

The only thing I want from it is first dibs if you come to sell it. smile

Am I right in thinking you are in the Kettering area (ish)?

the steering rack would be very useful thanks, but I am going down the electric route (I think) just so he can use it more easily in the village.

With regards to the offers of help- many many thanks.

I gave to get the body from my old houses shed tomorrow, see what state it's in, and begin in earnest to get it ready.

I may well take you up in the kind offer!

I have a very large kettle and a fridge full of beer

What sort of vinyl would stick to paint on a permanent basis?
I'm thinking square numberplates?

A kind offer- may ask for your help a little nearer the time if you don't mind?

I would love the bits thanks.

Could you let me know a postage/courier price so I can pay that?

A beer at le mans seems a little light to me- how about a couple of bottles of wine in the square?
Ps- should gave a spare seat if you are stuck for transport there and back - a long way away yet though!!

Plenty of choice with Vinyls that will stick to paint. I mainly design Vinyls for vehicles so not a problem there.

Number plates are no issue at all, when the time comes let me know the reg needed and we can put something together.

Just get hold of me when you want them and I will get them done and pop them over.

Emsman.

Just had a thought, I'm waiting on a delivery on a DA polisher and a few other bits.

I have enough kit (polish, wax) to get a nice bit of protection on it and get it looking it's best for a Christmas "delivery"

No worries, i'l get them stripped off on my next day off and sent down to you. I will have a look in the garage to see if i can get a few pics of the toylander my dad and uncle made for me, see if it inspires you a bit.
