Converse are great as holiday shoes as they pack to nothing don't look too stupid with jeans or shorts and are cheap enough you aren't precious about them.

I love them (leather ones - waterproof) even if tad expensive.

Me too.

Plus, in my mind, hot emo girls fancy me because of my skanky trainers.

What is the fuss?? Seriously, if ever there was a classic example of form over function, these skanky trainers are it. Surely if you can wear a good, supportive comfortable pair of trainers that dont look ridiculous you'd choose them ahead of these over priced things.....?
presumably you wear nice comfy loose fitting tracksuit trousers and a baggy top too?

imagine - people buying clothes because they like the way they look!

whatever next?

That's enough convincing I need to get rid of my stomping boots for some of these Newcastle Brown Ale shoes.

Why the fk would you waer any trainers- with the obvious exception of sports.

I dont own a pair, wouldnt be seen dead out and about in them.
you need to make a distinction between "fashion" casual shows that are not leather (plenty of subtle colours /styles) and white training shoes designed for sports

anyone who wears the latter out and about or with jeans is generally a chav/tramp/carncil/pesron with zero style

the former is rather different and if cuasing you consternation I assume you are 50+

Used to have a pair for a well dirty club I used to go to back when I was 17/18, they only ever came out on club night and had gone white to shades of grey and black. Looking back they were crap, give me K Swiss or Adidas any day of the week now even with the chav connotations. I also have to keep them as clean as possible for about 3 months, again making me a chav in the eyes of my mates.

I quite like them because of their cheapness... The soles are thin and they aren't particularly wide which makes them great for driving in, and unlike real 'driving' shoes they don't look too silly when you're not on a track.

They go with most outfits. They're pretty nice to look at.

I own 3 pairs, natch.

Fat people can't wear them as they provide no support. Normal people are ok though.

I have at least ten, plus probably a similar number that I've worn out and thrown away

I've had a few pairs of DC's and rapidly wrecked the inner area behind the heel, not impressed.
I now have some Dekline and Element trainers that seem much more durable.

  • skates off and pops a cheeky kickflip cool
