On the same night!?
At the same meeting, yes. We do have a break.
What time does the meal finish? Must be a late finish.
No just an early start, 11:30hrs.

Yes - been active twice in Craft and also in 4 other orders. Great fun out on the circuit but can be difficult to balance FM/time with wife!

Great stuff - I'm currently a steward, but am IG tomorrow night for a 2nd. Great fun, looking forward to it!

If you ever get a chance, be sure to attend a Glittering Star Lodge evening.

They are a travelling military Lodge and when the knock came on the door of the Lodge seeking admission, it nearly came off the hinges!

We are doing two initiates in Dec and (prob) another four in March. Things look healthy.

Just found out we have a double 2nd, the a double first in the same meeting, and followed by a double third the meeting afterwards.... So pleased I am now IPM and avoid doing any of the work!

Seems Masonry appears to be growing these days which assuming our new initiates etc are all there for the right reasons, can only be a good thing.

Congrats to the brother who is becoming IG - one of the most enjoyable jobs I think as you are involved in every meeting but its a nice way to ease in.

Can I just say Good Luck to all of us who are stuck with our heads in "the book", cramming for the next meeting, especially MAM, who will be moving across the lodge in a couple of weeks!

(And anyone have any tips for remembering how to invest officers?)

Thankfully double first has now been moved and one of the 2nds will be done at a later date. We meet at 430, like to dine by 730 at the latest and need a beer break between obviously!

We just got a bit inundated with work and were trying to work out how to do it all in our 4 meetings a year, which after installation gives only 3 working meets.

Not doing the IPM thing next meeting, being JW and doing a few other small bits so should be a fairly relaxed meeting for me. Loved being in the chair and highly recommend it but I am enjoying being a PM though :-)

Loi last night so all excited for the meeting!

Was for us for ages. In fact, when I initiated I was the first initiate for over 7 years, possibly more than ten and the Lodge had only just decided to retain its warrant as we kind of took over another lodge in a friendly merger. Now we are doing a lot better with some great initiates who are climbing the ladder and bring a lot to the lodge. We are also lucky to have around 10-12 PIG's. We would have more but so far four gave into our Sec and joined the Lodge :-)

We do ask for help from other lodges occasionally and we have helped others out which I love as it's all part of the fun.

Being clear, I had no real part in the rejuvenation of out extremely old Lodge (242ish years old) ad the two initiates and one joining member who came via me are more a reflection of the amazing work of the lads who brought the Lodge back from the brink of extinction and the fact that as a Lodge we all like each other immensely and socialise outside the Lodge fairly often so I think that helps attract newbies.

It does irk me that so few people outside have a clue what we are about but I never fail to be amazed by how many people who actually know little to nothing also do want to join and for the right reasons.

Sorry for the long post!

Yep! Just remember that the order is taken care of by the DC and the bulk to the words are from the opening anyway so you already know the basics :-)

Assuming you about to become WM - enjoy and very best of luck
