Actually though, you need extra categories of "nearest to the door" and "furthest from the door" for anyone who has a wife and small children.
yes

Although it's my girlfriend.

Edited as I've just seen this:

If anyone gets into our house uninvited and mean harm, then I'm damned if they get to her first.

From the 'caveman' days, men subconsciously choose to sleep nearer the door so they can protect their home/wife/family.

OK. Who voted 3?
I, quite truthfully, voted three.

One of them is my one year old daughter though, so no need to be too jealous!

On the left, because I'm between her and the door, what she hasn't realised is that she's now closer to the window, but murderers don't use windows, right??

Technically I am not cold and alone if my cats are sleeping with me. They keep me warm and I am technically not alone. So NER.

I love having the bed to myself and sleeping diagonally. Might make a fort out of it it later.

Since splitting with the missus, I've slept on both the left, right, middle, and diagonally.

Out of choice I would sleep on the left, but sometimes find myself waking up on the right.

When I was married, the missus would change the side of the bed she slept on day by day, so got used to sleeping on both sides of the bed. She has been known to wake me in the night, in order to swap sides of the bed.

That doesn't explain why I choose to sleep closest to the door, unless I am secretly a bloke eek

fk that, I like my sleep.

Normally the right, but I've started to migrate towards the middle.
