Cheers...

He is going to go in a box, under his favourite sunny spot next to a Clematis - after trying to destroy it with Pee for years maybe he can use the afterlife to put something back...

Every cloud and all that...
Sorry too hear this news, chances are if they operate they'd end up putting him to sleep on the table which is always very sad, it's a gamble but not too operate certainly not wrong and perfectly understandable not to do.

Sounds like a lovely spot for him.

Sorry to hear that OP. We cried buckets earlier this month and are still not quite there - the Doris was a bit melancholic only last night, along with a few tears, but I guess hormones gave her a hand with that.

I think It was the hardest thing we've had to do as a couple (emotionally), as ours had been with us from the very start.

If he's in pain then putting him to sleep is the kindest thing you can do, whilst being the hardest. Think of it as your last gift to him.

God I'm a soppy fker when it comes to cats.

Really sorry to hear this sad news frown It's a tough call to make but it's usually better to make this call than result in the cat suffering.

We had to make the same decision with Max when we realised that he'd never recover and any further treatment was putting off an inevitable end. Doing that meant no suffering for him but it was still a wrenching choice.
