I was on holiday in Douglas with my parents at the time that happened, its's certainly not forgotten by me, the smell was horrendous and i was in Summerland the day before.

Only living recipient of a VC during Afghan conflict. Amazingly, a relative also won a VC during WW2. I find that link fascinating.

A magic box that can locate just about anything, from crims on the run to golf balls, simply by inserting a photograph of what you've lost. A snip at just $8000!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadro_Tracker

You can see why so many American police departments bought one of these - invaluable!

Or possibly not...

I remember something very similar to that being sold into Iraq after the gulf war in order to locate mines and unexplored bombs. Resulted in a number people getting killed after it obviously didn’t do what it was meant to. Some people have disgusting morals.

Not on Wiki, but an interesting biography :

Douglas Barnett, from US military sharpshooter & medic to Star Wars prop technician and electric car builder :

http://elections.pacifica.org/candstmt/cand_page.p...

stumbled upon i after finding out that Frank Sinatra part-owned a Titanium factory in interesting times,

maybe he was involved in SR 71 supply ?
