Any suggestions for a cheap shaving brush that doesn't drop bristles every shave. Not too bothered if it's synthetic. Ideally something that can also fit in a travel tube.

I'm ashamed to say the Wilkinson sword ones are actually quite decent...

shaving shack ones seem to have good reviews too.

I'm quite happy with my men-u brush. £10 and the sample shave cream that came with it seems good too. Hell of alot better than boots shaving soap.

Thanks gents, I'm currently using a Menu brush from boots which is shedding bristles after 4/5 months. Will try the wilkinson.

I used the Menu brush for my first 5 months.

Its fine.

But the difference when you change is very noticeable.

The MenU brush is an OK standby, not a patch on a badger brush though.

Bloody PH, this is getting ridiculous. First I find myself spending a fortune on watches, now I've just dropped the best part of a ton on Edwin Jagger clobber.

Arrives tomorrow, lets see if I can use it without exsanguinating myself in the bathroom.

^^^ Don't worry, I'm just reading along at this stage. My knowledge on the usage of appropriate implements for stirring one's tea is nowhere near comprehensive enough to join the discussion, yet.

Oooooh. Didn't see the spoon thread.

Back to my what brush query. Having set out to order a wilkinson brush, using advance man maths, I've just ordered an Edwin Jagger Best Badger Travel brush with a tube. I also ordered a 75ml tube of sandlewood shaving cream for when on my travels (smaller than taking a tub). I blame Grover, NDA, Frank Furter and the rest of the lunatics on this thread.

Sadly I couldn't find any diamond encrusted platinum spoons on the site.

I use the regular EJ Best Badger Brush and its great so the travel version should be more than up to the job.

Don't get hung up on brand name badger brushes too much. The jagger one I have has already dropped bristles. I'm hoping its just because its new.

I'm becoming obsessed. I'm finding myself wanting to shave all the time, have joined badger and blade forum where a very kind gent has sent me a selection of blades for free.

I'm also now watching three vintage razors on eBay. This will get expensive.

If your brush is dropping bristles contact customer services of your brush maker (Kent in my case) they are pretty adamant that they shouldn't shed and Kent sent me a replacement.

I have my brushes made for me.

It's more expensive than a coke habit.

Y'fecker! You lot spent ten minutes ripping the piss out of my 'shaving perversion' and now you want advice? irked

hehe

Should've said, I have a spare EJ only used a couple of times. Too small for me as I'm used to my mahoosive Simpsons XL Best Badger. I'll bring it along next Friday anyway.
