Multi-blade razors
Discussion
Gents if you could pick 3 or 4 from the link below what would you get? (Minus feathers, Persona Israeli Reds, Gillete Siilver Blue & Wilkinson as I've got these, like them and use them mainly)

Thanks Dai

Thanks Dai
For me, the Gillette 7 o'clock Sharp Edge in an aggressive razor and Personna Red or Feather in a milder razor.

Check out these bad boys.
Bit old and tired but could they be made good?
Should be fine with a bit of work. I bought a couple of these in different grades:Bit old and tired but could they be made good?
Whetstone and a Strop
Bit of elbow grease is needed but my vintage straight razor has come up very nicely and is pretty easy to maintain.

Luckily not my nads!! My fault, rushing before a funeral and nicked my neck below my ear! Blood everywhere!! I haven't had one nic with the other blades but these feathers are super sharp!!! Luckily my shirt collar was a cm below the cut so stayed blood free....and my beard covered it a bit so nobody noticed. Just got stick off some of my family as they've not seen the beard before & kept calling me Jewish
I've bought some alum block now...just in case!!

I've done this a couple of times, especially when rushing, once in exactly the same place as you, the razor jumped a little and just sliced my neck! I've also nicked my nose a couple of times, that hurts!
Yeah hurts like a bd I'm lucky though and have a Zac Dingle beard so only shave above & below to shape it Would probably cut my lip off otherwise! Almost cut myself again this week, tired & working nights the razor slipped out my hand when the phone rang! Miracle I didn't cut anything!
Hi Gents,
I've just moved from experimenting with a straight razor to a wilkinson classic - so much easier!
I'm looking at getting a vintage razor for my Dad for Christmas (He's always used multi blades). I have spotted some 1958 (his birth year) Gillette fat boys around on eBay etc. Are these good razors? Anything I should be looking out for?
Thanks in advance

I Absolutely love my Fat Boy, a few others here are fans as well from what I remember.I've just moved from experimenting with a straight razor to a wilkinson classic - so much easier!

Look for condition on Ebay, and stay away from the cheapest ones, other than that I'm not sure how you'd tell the quality til it arrives

Anyone else see the new, unused, boxed Fatboy on Ebay last week?Look for condition on Ebay, and stay away from the cheapest ones, other than that I'm not sure how you'd tell the quality til it arrives
Sold for £255 - about £100 more than my guesstimate.

The fat boy or the slim.... they are both a similar mechanism, but the slim was introduced in 1960 I think, which would be a problem for the birthday date. Thanks in advance
The fat boy is a terrific razor, I have quite a few of them - if you spot any on ebay and want me to take a look before bidding, I'd be happy to do so.
Another razor to consider for him would the Gillette Tech - these are superb razors and my daily choice to shave with. Much cheaper to buy too.
Did anyone else see the razor on kickstarter?
I am waiting for mine to arrive it looks lovely on the pictures, I cant wait to see how it shaves.
