I guess I'll have to try it when I get home, I have loads of "timed out" ones here at work. Unless someone wants to copy and paste the results.
Same here from work. It was fine last night from home. Perhaps it is down right now? Also, my main pitfall with tar has always been the fact that you have to have the 'f' option last, otherwise it doesn't work.
A very old and very geeky joke.

See, I always wondered if the disturbance in the space-time continuum wouldn't just vaporise the floor.......
They would be eddies in the space-time continuum."I have detected," he said, "disturbances in the wash." …
"The wash?" said Arthur.
"The space-time wash," said Ford. …
Arthur nodded, and then cleared his throat. "Are we talking about," he asked cautiously, "some sort of Vogon laundromat, or what are we talking about?"
"Eddies," said Ford, "in the space-time continuum."
"Ah," nodded Arthur, "is he? Is he?" He pushed his hands into the pocket of his dressing gown and looked knowledgeably into the distance.
"What?" said Ford.
"Er, who," said Arthur, "is Eddy, then, exactly, then?"

In the 1960's the KGB was very interested in learning everything possible about the American space program, sending all sorts of spies to find every possible piece of information.
One afternoon, a breathless spy returned to headquarters with a page of paper in his hand, excitedly shouting to his superior, "Comrade! Comrade! The Americans are using Lisp to write their rocket launching software!"
The commander was skeptical. "How do you know?"
"I broke into their research lab and stole a page from the teletype machine! It's not the whole program, but it's the final page and contains the concluding logic of the program! See for yourself!!!!"
The commander looked at the page and smiled:

HI
I REGISTERED ON THE XXXXXX FORUM YESTERDAY UNDER USER abcde GOT THE LINK IN REPLY, CLICKED ON IT AND SAID EMAIL IS VERIFIED AND I CAN NOW LOG IN. I TRIED LAST NIGHT AND SAID USER NAME NOT FOUND, I WAITED UNTIL TODAY JUST IN CASE IT NEEDED OVERNIGHT TO SORT IT SELF OUT, STILL NO LUCK.
AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG.
Resisting the temptation to tell him to step away from the computer and leave it alone I explained that he should turn caps lock off, the log in is case sensitive and he's registered as ABCDE. I guess his password isn't password123 but PASSWORD123.I REGISTERED ON THE XXXXXX FORUM YESTERDAY UNDER USER abcde GOT THE LINK IN REPLY, CLICKED ON IT AND SAID EMAIL IS VERIFIED AND I CAN NOW LOG IN. Not really, that's like spelling a word.
The number Two, written down:
English: Two
Decimal/octa/hexa: 2
Binary: 10
Spoken, in English, it'll always be "two".
I disagree. If you say "two" for binary 10, you are converting it to decimal to say it. The number Two, written down:
English: Two
Decimal/octa/hexa: 2
Binary: 10
Spoken, in English, it'll always be "two".
"haha, look, they've used the constant three billion seven hundred and thirty five million nine hundred and twenty eight thousand five hundred and fifty nine! LOL!"
Not sure where to put this. But here is a great use of someone's time.

A few weeks ago 4chan released a way of destroying your xbox one through a sequence of enabling developer mode and then doing something. They framed it like a microsoft advert to enable your xbox one to play xbox 360 games.
Anyway, the other day they released this, which I found amusing at its simplicity.
FOR ANYONE READING, THIS IS A JOKE, DONT DO IT!

Not really funny or nice though is it. 4Chan can be fools, but have also done alot to help track down idiots etc. Seems this is something they'd not do.Anyway, the other day they released this, which I found amusing at its simplicity.
