When receiving surprising news, and being caught off guard like that, you don't get the time to wonder what you should say.

"Oh, you're pregnant?" is NOT the right thing to say. Her response was furrowed brow, and "How can you not see I'm pregnant?" look on her face, followed soon after by a sigh and a sad look. She politely moved the conversation on, but I'm quite sure we shall both agonise over it for many years to come.

Well I just burst out laughing in the middle of the office. So that’s me in an awkward position as well now.

Reminded me of a friend who moaned at someone on a train for not giving their seat up to the 'pregnant' lady.
