It hasnt been all that bright today, generally I will close the curtains if it is pretty bright.

I find it strange when people make their desks "homely" and have photos of their family and cars. I've never been tempted to bring any bits or or make my desk nicer!

I don't have any photos but I guess it's because so much time is spent at your desk so you may as well make it homely.

Nope, but Customs have a building onsite with x-ray facilities and a portable radiation scanner if containers are suspect.

Our ROV control van onboard the boat , 2 work class onboard and the second control van is through the wall . I know it's strictly not a desk so to speak but it's just one big pc with hydraulics and 3000volts

It's a service fume cupboard - Ie a waste and wash area of chlorinated and non chlorinated waste bins with funnels in them for emptying solutions into, and acetone and propanol in wash bottles (and refill Winchesters) for washing glassware, again into the relevant waste containers.
The solution isn't mine, I found it in the corner having been left there by a postgrad who had the lab before.
And if I actually did turnup to the lab in a cowboy hat, I'd be sent straight out again....

Terrible picture, but I've recently added a stand to my desk setup. Should have done this years ago, no more hunching over my screen and neck pain has disappeared.
