We are trying,
Her is young, so I am sure the delay lies with me.
I had a Vasectomy reversal July 2010.
I was duly given the 2 sample pots to deliver to the hospital.
First one on 3 months after op, and the second to be delivered after another 3 months.
So the second sample was delivered some 6-7 months after op.
First sample showed just 12 million swimmers, I was quite dissapointed, as the doc' said we needed about 40 million.
They wern't perfect shape or strong swimmers either, but maybe OK.
So later in the year, 4 months after the initial test, I deliver my second sample, and I get my second set of results.
Now thw swimmers have increased from 12 million to 156 million.
Now I feel better, however there are still not good shape and still not swimming strongly.
We recently went to the local fertility clinic in Manchester for an "open evening discussion"
There, the leading speaker suggested we opt for ICSI.

Has any one any first hand experience of ICSI ?
I understand it is almost similar to IVF.

Should we just keep trying, as the doc. who did the reversal, told us, we should only consider that we have been tying, "from the date of the second sample", which was 9 months ago.

I have 3 childern from previous marry.

V.

ICSI (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection)is done with IVF only. In normal IVF they take the eggs out and mix with Sperm. ICSI is where the Egg is removed in exactly the same way but then it is held and the sperm is injected directly into the egg. It is used for male infertility as the sperm may not be able to penetrate the egg due to it's shape (morphology).
