I think SPD might be a bit like what I experienced when I could still walk 'cos my ligaments weren't working properly. If so you have my profound sympathies!

Is it 38 weeks that single babies are considered term from? How big is the sproglet (thought to be) now?

That's right after 38 weeks it's no longer premature.

Nowadays they don't really worry any time after 34 weeks. They certainly don't try to hold you back.

Waters went about 0130. We have spoken to the unit and have advised us to stay home for the time being until the pain becomes unmanageable. We are currently having contractions every 3 minutes for a minute so she is having a soak in a warm bath.

Good luck guys - I thought every 3 minutes for a minute was hospital time?

He has indeed arrived.

Contractions got steadily worse where he arrived at 6:11 pm on Friday. After a very very good effort from Mrs Silvs she had to be taken into theatre in order to tidy things up but we were delayed 12 hours due to several emergency C sections in a row. I have just returned home and have not slept since 01:30 on Friday morning.

Mrs Silvs and him are still in hospital just overcoming her surgery and to make sure he is latching well for feeding.

Say hello to Max.

I am off to sleep.. up again at 7!

Week 36 for us (as of today)

Girlfriend was admitted for 'monitoring' after they thought her waters broke - but it was a false alarm. This was last Thursday.

They gave her steroids to promote the development of baby's lungs in case she decides to make an early appearance.

Back at home now but really in a lot of pain.

Supposed to have 4 weeks to go yet!

After a fairly simple 12 hour labour, baby C as we will call him for now, was born at 4.43pm weighing in at 7lb3, he was whisked off to neonatal for assessment and as arranged is awaiting an op for his blocked bowel, he is quite clearly gorgeous hehe
So first night in, baby in neonatal, hubby snoring on hospital bed next to mine, tired and even more tired; can I sleep???
irked
Will try uploading a picture of little man in a mo but not sure how the picture hosting via mobis

Congratulations!

Starting to panic now. 36 week scan yesterday was fine, but midwife mentioned possible induction a couple of weeks ago depending on blood pressure. Blood pressure has been elevated the last couple of days... Still got loads to do round the house and have no time! Argh!

A very happy Daddy smile Di did fantastically well, Jr got moved last night from SCBU to the PHDU because there wasn't enough room for him in the first unit, meeting with the docs hopefully this morning to find out when they will do his op

No feeling like those first few minutes. A mixture of fear, joy, relief, elation, tiredness and the overwhelming realisation that life is changed inexorably, and for the better.
