My vision is pixelated like white noise and its worse when its dark or im looking at large white/black surfaces.
Pixelated?
It's called visual snow, I suffer from it as well. It's not pixelation, more like static noise on an untuned TV

Blimey, not good. Does it have a major impact on life?

(FWIW, I've spent far too much time at Moorfields over the last two years)

What i would like to know is could my prolonged computer use have caused the short sighted and fuzzy vision?
A sample of 1 (me) suggests otherwise. I use my computer about 15 hours a day if I get the chance. Been using computers for the last 25 years, previously with VDUs, more recently with LCDs. I don't wear or need glasses.

Your 10 inch distance sounds very dodgy, though. My monitors are at least 24" away from my face with the resolutions set at their optimised ones (ie not 640x480 hehe ).

Edit: if I had vision problems that could be corrected by glasses, I'd just wear them. Not bothered about contact lenses.

Mine developed when I became short sighted at about the age of 11 or so. I think in my case it was caused by a lot of reading in poor light (torch under duvet)

Mine is most pronounced when looking at dark objects, but I can't say it affects my life, am just used to it now. Driving at night is no problem for example. I do suffer from other symptoms described on the Wiki link so it's likely to all be related but I've never been to the doctors about it.

There is no evidence to suggest that reading in poor light degrades sight.
