What's your view on whether or not he used steroids? The picture at the end with the back achne would give reason to suggest he did. What I found most shocking was that Bane only weighed 191 lbs; shows how the camera angles can be used to good effect!
That's 191 lbs of lean muscle though, on a 5'9 frame.

Good article on Tom Hardy's training regime for his different films on Chaos & Pain should anyone want to read it.

Maybe, but it's not like he's massively ripped, just bigger- easily achievable naturally, though more so if you're on the sauce.

According to one source, the actors' training regimes were pretty different, as the actors needed different looks, and because the sum total of Hardy's fighting experience consisted of wrestling cocks in and out of his mouth, perhaps for crack.

Apologies for not posting in here as much as I should but the new job is keeping me pretty busy.
I've made some steady progress and hit 98.5kg yesterday, which is exactly 30kg off where I started, I was going to post up some pics but as Sept 1 is so close I'll hold off til the final reveal wink
Hows everyone else going? My eating recently has gone to pot, but I've managed to keep the weight at bay by hitting the gym fairly hard.
As a little reward to myself for getting the job I've signed my wife and I up for personal training, so I've set a goal of looking like the rock in the next 2 years. Not huge fast 5 rock, but well defined bulky rock from walking tall.
Hope you're all still kicking ass and ready for 1st Sept.

I haven't posted much recently either, had a month off from the gym, not deliberately, just got busy and stuff.. Went back to the gym on Monday, hadn't put any weight back on, but hadn't lost anymore, which I can live with.

Back on it now though.

Something tells me you might just win this... smile

I'm on a slow bulk doing intermittent fasting. First meal at 1, second at 5:30 and third at 9:30-10. I've been doing it for 3 week and my weight has risen slightly. I've started going to the gym 5 times a week and doing split workouts instead of the full body I used to do. I feel it is more beneficial and more interesting because you're not doing the same couple of workouts all the time.

Currently 13st 6lbs, body fat around 13% I think. I've been as low as 7.8% about 3 years ago but I was pretty weak as well! Strength is at an all time high and I feel I'm in the best shape I've even been in smile

30kg is a top effort, well done to you sir!

I've dropped just a bit over 10kg but the weight seems to have plateaued for now as been forced to stop training due to shin splints, brought on by introducing hills into my training runs and wearing off the shelf running shoes with no support. My 2 weeks of rest are almost up so the plan is to dust off the bike and get in some miles on that to get fitness back up. Will be getting a gait analysis done this weekend and will treat myself to some decent running shoes to help correct my over-pronation.

I feel for you, I suffer badly with shin splints from years of running on hard surfaces in boots when I was in the military.

I was offered an operation but decided to work around it by being careful on where/how I run.

I found running on grass/gravel/mud helps a great as does stretching with some ankle stretches and just moderating how much I run.

For me though its not the end of the world as I much prefer to weight lift these days but still try to run one to twice a week.

What operation were you offered (just out of curiosity)? I'm fairly convinced mine is down to over-pronation so should hopefully not mean an end to running.

Have also spent the afternoon reading up on Mortons Toe (basically a short first metatarsal bone) after reading a runners blog where this was diagnosed as the root cause for recurring shin splints.

Bare with me, it was 2002 when I was offered an op so I may not remember it fully. One of my issues they suggested was most likely the muscle that runs behind or near the shin bone is in a sheath and the sheath was stopping the muscle from expanding/growing causing pain and they could do something with the sheath.

I turned it down point blank once I realised it was manageable by managing the amount of running I was doing and the surfaces/footwear I was using.

I went to a biometrics expert, had my running style measure, new trainers and customer insoles and whilst it helped a small amount, it didn't really cure the issue so I'd just periodically not run for a month or so at a time.

I still have a problem though for instance if I speed walk wearing shoes through the city my shins start to hurt relatively quickly, I also get pain in the bottom of my feet too.

Right then chaps - my turn!

Summer here in Dubai is a killer for getting out of shape - From May through to September, it's simply too hot to get out-and-about at all and it's far too easy to fall into a rut - which I did! Bad food, one meal a day, zero exercise, too much booze etc... and while I don't exactly look like a bloater, I've lost a fair bit of conditioning, have a belly and I know that my BF% is way higher than I'm happy with.

I'm going with the Kris Gethin 12 week Daily Trainer program. It fits my goals and I like the way its presented. Having a good search about also shows that there can be great results if you work hard.

Today is day one. Was up early and did the first cardio session, had something I haven't had for a long time - breakfast! and broke the meals down and have eaten, as per the diet, every 2-3 hours and consumed copious amounts of water.

I'm not going to use every single supplement he goes for but will stick with a core of protein, creatine, BCAAs, Omega oil capsules, Multivits, glutamine and a pre-workout booster.

I'm fully commited to this although I suspect the diet is going to become quite tiresome over time as I love my food, so I'm going to have to stay extremely focused.

They're all the same. Pick one and stick to it. That's the "secret". Most fitness DVDs end up stopping dust from hitting the DVD rack and nothing more. I subscribed to 6weeksixpack as it was free and it's pretty much the same stuff - cardio + weights + diet.

Don't you have a smart phone... or notebook? I wouldn't train without one... but then I always get obsessive about something I'm doing. And if you have a smartphone, you could run a HIIT app. thumbup
