Logging everything is quite important I think- excellent gauge of progress. I've got a detailed log of every session I've done in the last 2 and a bit years on another site (Sugden Barbell). Good to look back and see how you've improved, also to see trends in what works and what doesn't.

That reminds me. Around January when I was slowly healing from buggering my shoulder, the shoulder press machine was set at "7" and that was touch and go. Last week, I managed "11". This week, I thought I'd push my luck... managed "13"! (Before any of you say it, I do db shoulder press mostly but wanted to see how much I could manage with the machine.)Hoofy said:

This is a machine free zone you lightweight!
Been a while, but despite not posting, I have been doing, so to speak. Only a few days to go now I believe. Looking forward top the "end" shots to see who is where. I'll make no bones, my results are a mixed bag, but the more important aspects have been met or exceeded, so I'm a happy chappy, even if I don't win (this time...)!
No point in putting mine on ive gone a little backwards lost some muscle n put a bit of chub on :-( Nothing i didnt expect tbh with not being able to train very often.
Only a couple of weeks now and i will back on it. Just trying to work out what im going to do. I want a program thats layed out so i no exactly what i have to do.
Last night was looking more into the Kris Gethin program but i stumbled over a different program he does for bulking the DTP which is only 4 weeks long. Ive not been bothered about bulking before but since this is only 4 weeks its really tempting to try it. Then go for the 12 week program when thats finnished.
Any thoughts ?

I've done next to feckall.
Early on in this challenge I had the excuse of the hernia and subsequent repair but since then I've gorged on crap and drunk far too much alcohol. To put the tin hat on it, I've also been pretty much AWOL from the gym too.
I'll be making a proper effort from 1 September to try and shed a few KGs before BTaP which is 10 November.
10 week transformation; here we come!

My main reason for going for the 12 week program was to establish a base line. What I mean is to get into as good shape as possible and then manage a slow clean bulk, and general clean(er) lifestyle from there.Only a couple of weeks now and i will back on it. I've found that its far easier for me to manage my body once I've had something I'm happy with.

That's a shame. Even if you had followed some kind of eating regimen, you'd be in a much better position than when you started out.Early on in this challenge I had the excuse of the hernia and subsequent repair but since then I've gorged on crap and drunk far too much alcohol. Has your car arrived yet? (I want pics!)
I think you've got a reasonable excuse and the truth is I'm sure the extra time is good for the hernia to recover with!

Ditto to the above - this last six moths has had a serious impact on my life. I bit off more than I could chew, but I made the essentials stick so I'm looking forward to the next six months (there's a winter contest, right?) where I can be a little more focussed.
I'm glad its been a positive experience! There will be a winter challenge if we have enough people who want to continue these challenges!Lee

Lee
I'm in for sure. I'll quite happily admit I've done stage one - get myself out of the unhealthy position. Stage two will be for pure vanity. And functional fitness, naturally. Lee

It's also helped redefine my interests in life and business somewhat.
Serious question, why is that buddy? As an aside, I've noticed that by being really careful with my food intake (not eating too much or too little), my strength is still growing despite being what outsiders call "on a diet".
