Nose Bleeds

I have never had a problem with nose bleeds in past. Upto december last year i can not really remember having one, but in the last 9 weeks i am getting them more frequently.

LAst night i had 2 nose bleeds through the night, 1 was light the second was heavy. Took 20 minutes for it to stop. This morning it started again when i was leaning over putting my shoes on.

I have tried geting into my local doctors but due to the appointment system they can not see me today unless i am at deaths door. My appointment is in Mid april.

I do not know what has caused it but it is starting to worry my wife more than me.

Have you had your blood pressure check recently?

You may have a vessel close to the surface and that little extra pressure can cause it to break.

I have had high blood pressure in the past but my last checkup was last year (december) when I got my residence Visa in the UAE and all was normal.

its just for over 30 years i have not had any nose bleeds and now i get 3-4 per week.

Believe it or not there's something going around that causes major nose bleeds.

I had a few over about 2 weeks about a month ago and then my daughter had really bad ones - So bad she went to the doctor and got some antibiotic cream (I think) that she had to stick up her nose!

She tells me that she's since found out that a lot of people have had the same problem, diagnosis and cure.

Have you moved or been to somewhere higher, I.e. low oxygen etc? Frequently happens to me when skiing an lasts for about a week, sometimes more.

Any other sypmtoms? or just the nose bleed? no high temperature or other aches and pains? no allergies?
