Me and mrs NSFW have been having the conversation about me having a Vasectomy, now - this was my option I threw in there after we had our second child (4 months ago) as the hospitals have said that they don't advise us having any ore children due to health restraints on her part (severe pre-eclampsia twice, emergency C-Sections etc...) anyway, considering she had gone through what she had I have offered to have the chop. I have had the consult with the doctor, and have now been given the appointment date (for this month, pretty quick I thought!)... But when they phoned me with this news she got all sad and said that we would never have anymore children, and more to the point she would never be pregnant again.

What I'm asking is, as we have had THOROUGH discussions about this and she does not want anymore surgery, which I fully understand. Is there going to be and has anyone experienced resentment (if that's the right word?) for their partner or themselves having the operation? I know it's reversible with mixed results but I am happy with 2 kids and she has been advised not to have anymore, but should anything happen to us in the future as a couple she 'could' potentially have children but I couldn't (I'm fine with this). I'm just curious if anyone has experienced a different kind of 'mental' after the op? She is normally a calm, placid person and we very rarely argue, just bicker like married couples can. But SWMBO can change into SWT quite easily as I read on here every now and then!

Guy who lived in my street had a vasectomy. Then his wife decided she did want another child after all. So then he had it reversed. Then some time later he ran off with a colleague from work. A male colleague.

hehe

Similar situation with us and I did get slightly emotional knowing that this would mean we would never have another baby occasionally I do get slightly nostalgic (sp) but I don't think my 'mental' has got significantly worse!

Had mine done a few years ago and not had any issues with SWMBO.

Mind you, we have 4 of the little gits so you can see why.

You could suggest having some of your cock porridge frozen while it still works and then have the snip?

Best of both worlds then.

You know, for once... and only this once... I can actually see why someone decided to start a new career in the fudge packing department!

I'm not allowed a vasectomy.

I'd quite happily have one.

I have 2 kids and don't want any more.

I've even taken to threatening to do it myself...

So enlighten me, I'm pretty sure this wasnt covered in my Biology lessons:

After you've had the chop, what happens 'when you arrive'?. Because if she isnt going to have to say 'NOT in my hair!!' anymore, thats going to take some of the fun out of it.

Amateurs. You just deposit your muck in other orifices unless the decorators are in, when you have free choice.

I had one about 15 ys ago...done in the docs surgery with a local anasthetic.

Went back to work after half an hour...no side effects!

There still appears to be no bad effects ... so all good from my experience

Err, I thought it was called The Snip. confused

I'm far too young to have to consider it, but I can tell you now that there is no way I am having any invasive surgery on my satchel unless my life depends on it.

I had it done 18mths ago, I was 30 with three kids. Same situation as OP in that OH had been advised not to have any more children after 3 C-sections. I was quite happy to have it done as three kids is enough even if something were to happen between OH and I. There have been no regrets from me and the missus since its been done.
As for the actual procedure it was done by my GP in the local surgery and was over and done with in about 15 minutes. Felt as though i'd been kicked in the nuts for about 2 days after but other than that no problems whatsoever.

I don't get these threads; why would a man volunteer to have his balls snipped off. That's what it is right? Seems like the ultimate surrender of one's man card to me.
