Otex is awesome fun! But it doesn't always work particularly well.

Get down the docs and get 'em flushed out. Feels nice and if you're lucky they'll show you all the ear-crap floating in the bucket/container etc when you're done. biggrin

Sometimes ear problems can be linked to stress too, just as an aside. I clench my jaw when I'm stressed which can have a bit of a knock-on effect with regards to ear drainage, although not to the point where I go deaf!!!

Olive Oil works wonders. Slightly warm it up aswel & watch the wax flow out.

I lost my hearing in the Phillipines after doing a lot of diving. I went to the docs over there and they got a suction machine and a pair of forceps and vacuumed the insides of my ears out. It was quite uncomfortable, but it made a massive difference. He pulled all sorts of stuff out, including a bit of tissue I'd stuffed in there about 7 months earlier when I was in a loud club and had forgotten my earplugs. He couldn't believe I'd been that stupid, but at least it had protected my hearing for 7 months as I had never really heard that well since doing it. I was drunk at the time. Anyway, the vacuum treatment is well worth doing.

I've had HOPI ear candles done a couple of times, great big globs of wax have come out of my ears (after the docs declared them clear!), also helps with sinus issues.

I do have some mid/high frequency losses but having them candles made what hearing I do have better.
The residue wax is from the candle itself not ear wax.

I have to say; that's a hell of a niche business to earn a living in, 'detailing' the insides of people's ears. hehe Only in London!
we do it in newcastle too!

Definitely recommend getting it done if you suffer from wax build up.

It's very quick and painless, definitely makes a difference once done!
