I am 46, and have suffered from cracked heels for many years. A couple of months ago, my doctor gave me Diprobase cream to use.

Now, here's the funny thing. My left heel is now (near) perfect but my right one is more cracked than ever (and very painful).

Gluing works to a certain extent (relieves the pain) but it is not a long term fix. If I wear my boots it reduces the pain but on a day off (so in slippers/bear feet/deck shoes etc) the foot gets more painful.

Any suggestions please.

I've always had dry heels but seldom have they cracked until now - hot swollen feet due to late stages of pregnancy and both heels have split and bled. It's been very painful.

I got a heel profiler to get rid of the hard skin after giving them a good soak and I've been using Scholl Active Repair K+ cream three times a day.

They're better than they were, but far from perfect and I'd love to have smoothe soft heels. Evidently walking about bare footed / open backed shoes or sandals don't help cracked heels.

I have had these for a long time to. I find that flexitol cream works a treat at softening the skin. Invest in a good foot file/scraper and when your feet have healed enough and when they are dry, file away the dead skin and keep the heel soft.
