Not sure if this is the best place for it, as its not really a health matter as such.

I'm allergic to penicillin, and normally have a bracelet that says I am, however, I'm always forgetting to put it back on after a shower.

I was thinking of getting a tattoo to say this, is there a symbol that shows this?

Having a quick Google search it appears that there isn't, but thought I would ask anyway.

Does anyone know of anything?

I reckon that you could do the MedicAlert symbol and then a) your MedicAlert or similar number so that someone can ring them and look up your details and b) the word PENICILLIN, maybe in red or something, the closest you can get to however they'd label it on a hospital wristband.

My dad has a medallion type one (condition similar to haemophilia but caused by necessary medication) and pretty much just doesn't ever take it off, for that reason. If you're really concerned about forgetting to put it back on, that might be an option?

A guy I met has a pacemaker and associated illnesses.

He has an extremley long message tattooed on his forearm, its a bit of a shambles because the font is unreadable. As he ahs lots of tattoos, no one would ever bother looking at them IMO.

I think he also has a medical symbol on there somewhere - so worth considering but would think it through very carefully as to what to put and where to put it.

When you say you are allergic to penicillin, what actually happens when you take it?
