Those groups of lads are already getting on my nerves. Each ends up doing about 3 sets per hour.

On the upside, they think you're superhuman if you can lift like a grown up.
Easily impressed newbs. I reckon Hoof would be right at home there biggrin

Another January rant.

Heard some fking idiot reverse their stty Honda CR-V into someone's Mini tonight in the gym car park as I was walking in from my car on the other side of the carpark. Heard them reverse, then crunch, then heard them drive off pretty damn quickly. They'd managed to scuff the rear offside quarter and smash the tail light.

In hindsight i should have ran after the CR-V to stop them, but I didn't realise what had happened until they were leaving. Reported it to the gym and they grabbed the CCTV so hopefully if the Mini's owner gets in touch they'll be able to track down the tt who smashed into them! People are knobs.

On the plus side the gym are finally thinking of stopping the Slimming world class on a Wednesday night which is causing this carnage along with the usual influx of January gym members. Hopefully they do!

Also the attractive RPM instructor has stopped teaching at the gym I go to now frown

this has to be one of the stupidest thing I've ever seen from a non-noob lifter on roids.

This is Ulysses World or something Simeon Pandas mate. I think they claim they are natty!!

I would imagine it is just a stunt to look impressive and increase his social media following.

The plank one with the plates on his back seems dangerous, they all seem daft.

Bradley Martyn has similar form in pulling weird and wonderful stunts. See his squat on the hoverboard thing.

Re the above with the kickboxer - I can’t make up my mind how useful that actually is. My first thought was that it could be a handy training tool if he’s kickboxer or such, but then I considered that he’s already under tension by virtue of the weights he’s controlling, so I’m not sure it’s actually any use as an activation tool.

he does it for fun, he knows he's goofing around and that you shouldn't take him seriously.

Excessive vocal outbursts during weight lifting also get on my nerves, there is no need to fully engage the vocal cords on your large exhalation

I'd be more impressed if they didn't use shin pads.

We used to do the same stuff years ago. Used a piece of 2 by 4 to inflict blunt force trauma though. biggrin

Gym this afternoon. I go in and 5min later a bunch of young lads 1 power rack down start doing bench press. in the hour and a bit I manage to do my squats, OHP and deadlifts, as far as I saw from them all they did was bench press and incline dumbells in all that time and just pissing about chatting/mucking about kicking each other up the bum in between sets. they left the same time as me and stood awkwardly in silence behind some guy that was infront of a locker next to the one they were using. smh.

I like that idea, yes.

I might take a length of 4x2 to David Lloyd to deal with the many, many people there who get on my nerves. Too long in the squat rack? Feel my timber up side your head. Ugly, sour-faced women preening themselves in the mirror? Swift blow to the clunge with my plank. Service slow in the bar? Batter the spotty barista till he has splinters.

I'm off to Wickes.
