When I started using machines for rehab, I started wearing gloves, just too suspicious of other people's hygiene.
I also use the hand gel in exit/entrance.

Pfffttt - if the bars don't have blood on them, is it even a real gym?

Showers that go off about 1 second after you release the button. How tight are their margins that they can't spare 5 seconds of hot water being wasted.

This.

If you often travel on the Tube, the gym is comparatively as sterile as a neo-natal clinic. You can be infected with most known diseases just by looking around the carriage at the walking dead.

Travel hand sanitizer for the win, i just thought with the costs of Gymbox, the people there would be abit more hygiene conscious, of course they might just be doing a line (it is the city after all) for some extra power

What a fking bunch of manginas some of you are.
1. Go to gym.
2. Train.
3. Have a shower (or at the very least wash your hands)
4. Dress and leave.

What exactly are you scared of? Or do you lick your hands between sets?

hehe

I must admit though there are a couple of people in my gym who smell bloody awful. Their lingering musk has brought hand sanitiser to mind a few times when I've had to use equipment after them. One particular dude was getting changed at the same time I was, and when he took his shoes off, the stench of what I can only describe as 'death' was completely overpowering. I rarely throw up and am used to the normal 'wet shoe smell' from getting my
mountain biking shoes soaked but I was retching on that day vomit All I could think of was not stepping on the same pieces of floor that he had hehe

I really worry that I smell when I'm at the gym. I sweat my bks off within minutes of getting there (it doesn't take much to get my sweating to be fair). I hate it when people use equipment next to me in case they think I smell. I shower before I go, gym stuff is washed after every session, after I walk up I spray myself with deodorant, take a towel with me to mop up sweat during and after I've finished on something. I've never noticed that I smell (but do you notice your own?) (other than when I farted doing some weights...) but sorry if its me!

My moan...people not putting equipment away or hoarding it all. I wanted the 20kg barbell. Bloke had that, plus three others and a collection of dumbbells he was sat on the bench using his phone so asked if I could use it for five minutes (3 sets). Was told he was using it. Fair enough I found something else to use whilst waiting. He sat for ten minutes on his phone, then went to dumbbells before using the barbell.

Fresh sweat doesn't smell so you should be fine smile

My pet hate is people coming out the showers without having rough towel dried so soaking the floor and also the idiots who then proceed to wring their swim shorts out in front of the lockers. Floor is then soaked with puddles of water whilst your trying to get changed.

Presumptive close. 'You don't mind if I use these quickly whilst you're on the phone DO YOU!?' Then just take them.

Because,

TBH i never really used to think about it and dont when im training as i forget about all that, i even go barefoot in the showers and i 'know' i shouldnt, its just that, and maybe its ocd on my behalf, that washing your hands after going for a dump is the right thing to do. NO matter where you are. I guess i could just stopping stting on my hands as well but it keeps them warm on a winters day...

Would you be happy to use a bit of equipment after some guy youve just watched come out of a cubicle?

Where have all these coprophiliacs come from?

There was no mention of going to the toilet in my post. And if other people in your gym are using equipment with st-smeared hands, then there's
1. Little you can do about it; probably better that it gets on your hands than into the material of your ghey gloves; and
2. Stop fking licking your hands! Just wash them at the end of your session before you have whatever you snowflakes consume post-workout.

Folk worry to much nowadays!

You're not made to be constantly sanitised, what happened to manliness! wink

Exactly.

We're all doomed come the zombie apocalypse if everyone who has spent years ensuring they are strong and fit runs around screaming because they can't find their hand sanitiser.
