Watch out for prolapses wink Especially as you get older.....

On the subject of prolapses (discs rather than anything else), what is it with the deadlifters who get to the top of the lift and then do a sort of lean back/back arch thing?
It stems from competition lifts, where the lifter wants to make it unequivocal that the lift is legit.

The bros saw that and ran with it.

Zod - don't get me wrong, a 3 X BW pull is hard, properly bloody hard!

the mental dread is an interesting thing...your body knows, and it sends the right signals to hq. I get it before my most draining circuits...almost to the point of not going. THe little warfare that gets played out in the mind is amusing. It's similar to pre-race, pr attempt, or an audition.
LIke parkrun, when you know you're just there for a pootle, it's like a holiday, but when you're prepped for a pr...then it's junior rodeo on

is it me or are some 45 degree leg pressing machines (ones where you load the plates on) easier than others?

Definitely.
I put it down to differing angles. >dunno<

I don’t often do leg presses, but every time I have, the machines have looked pretty much the same but been massively different in terms of how the weight feels. Like 50 kg difference.

If upper body is easy, then you're doing it wrong biggrin
Probably some truth in that. Part of it is personal to me - I cannot try as hard on upper body movements because I don’t trust my dodgy neck! I could probably always get 1-2 more reps on weighted pull ups, for example, but never risk it.

I have a gym moan: people who do 30 min warms up. Get a life.

Gym today and two people, both of whom had been in for a good 40 mins working out, just popped clothes back on and left. Doesn't directly affect me, but I'd have to say something if I sat next to them for the afternoon.

The fact they were working out bk naked would concern me more.

At least they didn't train in their outdoor clothes and footwear. That *really* bugs me.

Ah, a proxy moan.

Most people I see in the gym hardly break a sweat anyway. biggrin

A couple weeks ago there was a young lad in my gym who was using the exercise machines in a full suit and smart shoes. He also had a large duffel bag on him which was probably big enough and empty enough to contain his gym kit. I didn't really understand what he was up too and why he didn't have proper kit with him.

Also, tossers who use an adjustable bench for bent over rows, no issue here, except some decide to rest the foot on the head section and grab the bum seat area

People curl in the squat rack because they are bicep curling more weight than they can deadlift off the ground lol

That would be me. Sorry. I just set myself up on an adjustable bench and do everything there rather than moving between the benches. Plus they're usually always facing the mirror so I can look at myself. biggrin
