What Are Your Gym/Fitness/Routine Moans?

There is no 'expected' range, the lifts are totally different.
I think I agree. My max high bar squat hovers around 150-160kg, and I can do 180kg for 20 on some leg presses; others feel not much easier than squats. Some of that will be me, but most is just that leg press numbers are meaningless unless you know the machine well enough to compare apples with pears properly. different crowd in today, holiday lot. Tall lean bloke in, has 180 on the bar to squat, that's good I think, save what he does I'd struggle to call half-squats, quarter squats more like it, makes me wince to think of the force on his knees. He then does the typical trick of loading the leg press with 25 plates and moves it a couple of inches. Though pushing 170kg on the prowler I did consider impressive.
Is there some new fashion/trend about working out in bare feet or socks only?
I noticed it a few times over the last couple of weeks. There are a group of lad who, to be fair, lift a serious amount of weights but have started to do it without wearing trainers. They literally carry them around when moving between machines.
It just seems odd

I deadlift, squat, hack squat, RDL etc with socks only. Tho I don't walk about sans shoes.I noticed it a few times over the last couple of weeks. i can understand waning to lift weights a whole lot more barefoot than I can when people are wearing chunky padded trainers. I lift in converse hi tops. I wouldn't mind doing it bare foot but i'd be paranoid about my feet giving way to the wood flooring.
i was watching worlds strongest man earlier. one of them was doing their deadlifts barefoot (ok, in socks). apparently the guy has one leg shorter than the other so needed special socks that had the right thickness to even it out.... another person i saw deadlift in converse lows.

130+ normally for platform shoes.
Worth the money if they're going to protect your feet......https://breakingmuscle.com/fitness/weightlifting-s...

Whilst I love my Leistungs I'm not sure the average gym goer is going to get much out of a dedicated weightlifting shoe. They're absolutely necessary for the two competition lifts, but if ankle mobility is hindering your squat then it's probably better to try and sort that than spend a couple of hundred on shoes. FWIW I can deadlift more barefoot than in my shoes.https://breakingmuscle.com/fitness/weightlifting-s...
That said, the loud 'CLACK!' noise they make is really satisfying.
