Makes it even worse when you do the completed items search and see what they were fetching in Feb 2020.
Set of 15s then - about a tenner for very good used
Set of 15s now - Anything up to 200 quid (start about 100 used)
Are people paying that rate?Set of 15s then - about a tenner for very good used

Almost tempted to sell some of mine as I don't use them if I can get £200 for something that cost me £10 or whatever it was.

Yesterday was my first day in the gym in months.
Moderately busy, but very surprised to note very few wiping down either before or after using machines and weights. Most blatantly disregarding current advice.
Not sure whether I’ll go back.
Expecting to be a little sore for a day or two anyway after such a long layoff.
Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I wouldn't be rushing to a gym and risking spreading this virus further.Moderately busy, but very surprised to note very few wiping down either before or after using machines and weights. Most blatantly disregarding current advice.

I've noticed those over 30 behaving quite responsibly - assiduously wiping down equipment, washing hands etc. Anyone under 20 seems to exist in a parallel world where the plague hasn't yet occured. Not only that, the odd teenager I've talked to seems full of conspiracy theories.
An alternative view: we have fked over their lives and futures for something that poses zero threat to them. The least we can do is cut young people some slack when they don't become zealots for future harm to their life prospects.Off thread, I know, but I get pissed off by criticism of the very people whom the country has treated appalling over the last few months.

Actually, I almost totally agree (I don't think we've fked over their future. Not yet. Let's hope schools go back without delay, office workers return and understand life itself carries some risk. Only then will the economy restart and jobs become available). I would be just as totally hacked off as they are. I don't disapprove of raves, group gatherings of young people or lads meeting in the park etc . It's exactly what I'd do. However when mingling with others in the gym it's the same regulations for everybody - no exceptions. Behave or get chucked out.Off thread, I know, but I get pissed off by criticism of the very people whom the country has treated appalling over the last few months.

I can probably agree to that :-) It’s a matter of politeness at that point, given that it may make others uncomfortable. popeyewhite said:

The flipside is there bosses prefer them working from home and saving the company paying out for the office block

Your assuming office workers don't want to return to work.
I'm not actually, and didn't infer that either. I'm aware many businessess don't intend to return to the office until 2021. They must be forced to return asap, if possible.egor110 said:

They were during the last 4 months. Whether or not they are still selling as rapidly now I haven’t checked.Almost tempted to sell some of mine as I don't use them if I can get £200 for something that cost me £10 or whatever it was.
If you has a load of old gym gear you could have coined it in. Every online store is still sold out and the rare occurrence you find one with availability the prices are usually 2-3 times more than previously.

Yeah I'm sure you're right. I agree that according to the media no one is ever going back to an office apparently.

Offices won't be getting a rebate on the leases, that's not how it works
Off topic but I have, I keep paying my rent and it keeps getting paid back to me without me even asking. I've not paid a penny rent since march. The landlord has told me that from the 1st of sept that they will accept payments from me but only at 50% of my rent until they tell me otherwise.

Edit: This kinda baffles me. What's the upside to the LL returning your payments?

It's the crown so part publicity perhaps although I work in property and I've not seen much publicity about it.
It'll certainly help negotiations when lease negotiations come up as a business owner im not going to forget it, even if moving this landlord would now be the first id go to. So maybe that's the point, you tend (or shouldn't) forget when people go out thier way to provide you with exceptional service.
Also whilst it's unusual to get the whole lot back without asking i know and am working with many landlords who are giving rent or proportions of it back to thier tenants.

Absolutely, I never forget exceptional service and plenty businesses have gotten repeat custom & recommendations from me for exactly that reason.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
